True as stated, only upper tongue area questionable
Would like to rate a 4.5 only issue is the gusseted tongue where it’s stitched and sealed needs to come up higher to the topmost eyelet. This could be potential water seepage, unless you wear waterproof pants that are able fall down to cover at least the top three eyelets of boot. As weather forecasted, so far was only able to wear it in a drizzle during New Year 2026 in SF. Have not experienced heavy down pour; I believe if you wear long waterproof pants as explained above, you should be fine. Besides that, Columbia is a great outdoorsy brand that I have always respected. Everything is true as advertised. I’m truly happy with it, great traction (slip-resistant not tested) great ankle support for long range, very comfortable, not so bulky or heavy. If you’re hiking in moderate rain or wet misted lands or through small trickling creeks of a couple inches, you’ll be fine. Not meant for wading through flooded areas or neighborhood. Not heavy duty rated for warfare as well, lol. I think would be great for weekend fishing or camping or hunting with loved ones. Planning to buy second pair. Thank you for your time reading.

Great Boots
This boot has exceeded my expectations 10 times over. The fit is perfect, very comfortable and I can wear them all day without any issues. Probably the most comfortable boot I’ve owned. I’ve tried multiple mid level brands and these are by far the best I’ve ever owned. They are warm, waterproof, comfortable and durable. Everything I needed. This winter in PA has been rough this year and I’m so glad I had these. Lastly, the tread is amazing, navigating slippery snow conditions is a breeze as they are very sure footed and grip well.

Great Boot! Bang for your Buck!
This boot is fantastic right out of the box! It’s comfortable, provides excellent arch support, and the width is just right. The leather appears to be coated, allowing water to bead and run off, making them water resistant. I’ll provide an update on scuffing after my son has put more miles on them. The tread looks well-made, and I’m confident they’re slip-resistant based on my initial check. I purchased these for my son for Boy Scouts hiking and camping trips in a size 7.5 wide. He and I normally wear the same size, but I went up half a size and chose the wide option because his foot is broader and he usually wears thicker socks for hiking or camping. They’ll be used for a weekend camping and hiking trip soon, and I’ll update once he’s broken them in. For $45, these boots are an excellent value I have no complaints!

Great boots- you can find at local retailers
solid boots, truly waterproof and very comfortable straight out of the box. They do make my feet sweat a bit, but I suppose that's what happens when you have a high leather upper and are energetic while wearing them. I did a lot of hiking with them and also use them as work boots. They excel in both situations. I have found them significantly cheaper at a local retailer, so I'm giving the boots 5 stars, minus 1 star for Amazon over charging for a solid boot. They have a lot of wear over a year of use and the upper is still solid, but the sole has lost much of the tread, so I needed a new pair. Photo attached.

Columbia hiking boots
I've worn some terrible boots, like those US Army boots that required breaking-in before they didn't hurt your feet, and others that became too tight as they aged, or developed a lump on the insole that had to be patched or padded. Columbia boots aren't like that at all, because they fit properly the first time you put them on and continue to fit until their service life is done (still trying to figure out when that will be.) These Newton Ridgeline II hiking boots are the 3rd pair I have, the oldest being about 7 years and still worn for work. The other, 5 years in use has only shown visible signs of use on the outside, remaining perfectly comfortable and staying in the right position on the foot (not sliding or slipping sideways, etc.) Surprisingly, the pair I just received are nearly identical to those, except for the new boot smell. The soles and treads of these boots is amazingly unworn and intact, unlike others that I've tried that got worn-down at the heels, or lost a piece of tread when something sharp was stepped on. After un-boxing these new Newtons I checked the size inside the tongue, examined the pair for symmetry, and then tried them on without socks to feel no seams or ridges, or anything except cool support. These are very good boots. There might be better selections out there somewhere but they probably cost a whole lot more. What I particularly like about Columbia boots is the way they look, without all the neon colors and fancy external patterns that either go with a space-suit or should be worn on a basketball court. Columbia boots don't look like that because that's not what makes them good. It's the precise design and excellent craftsmanship and the great fit.

Comfortable and sturdy everyday shoes
These men’s shoes from Columbia are very comfortable right out of the box. Lightweight but well-made, with good support and a solid sole. They fit true to size and feel stable when walking for long periods. The materials look durable, and the shoes hold their shape well. A great option for everyday wear and casual outings.
