There is a clear sheet to remove from both sides, thus BOTH SIDES ARE STICKY. First remove the clear sheet on the NON-NUMBERED side, and stick it on the tile or concrete surface. Next remove the clear sheet on the NUMBERED side....and use it until it is no longer tacky and removing dirt. Like others said it is great entering the house from the garage! We started using these several years ago during a remodel, and they worked so well with dust and dirt that we continued. Only caveat (and why it no longer gets 5 stars), is that the newer product is so sticky it is a fall hazard for elderly people.
