As an airbrush compressor the AS-186 is affordable, quiet and works well. EDIT After posting this review I was contacted by the seller who offered to replace the my compressor. Since the only thing wrong with it was a faulty pressure gauge that cost just a few dollars to replace I didn't need to accept their kind offer but it does go to show the level of commitment the seller has to customer service. This compressor is stated to be 1/6 horsepower -- so that is somewhat less than 200 Watts (so, make sure your step-down transformer can do at least that much power). The other issue you may have is the cycles-per-second / Hz of your power source. This compressor wants 60 Hz. From the description, it may just run slower on European/Japan 50 Hz power -- or it may have something worse happen.
