Keeps your legs and torso mud free - miles better than having no mudguard. I have made one valuable observation - at low speeds it works perfectly. At higher speeds, it does not. I recently did the C2C route and on the road sections, if it was raining and I went much faster than 15mph (measured on my GPS!), the rainwater that was ejected from the top of the front wheel by centrifugal force flew up into the air and immediately got blasted backwards into my face. I've eaten road dirt and liquid sheep muck as a result. To avoid that, I found that I had to lean off to the side of the front wheel, so only my shoulder got splattered.In conclusion: For proper (low speed, muddy) off road use, these are great. For on-road use at speed, I'd recommend a mudguard that comes up over the top of your front wheel. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A no brainier kind of purchase! *by P***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 February 2019* Very happy with this Crud Catcher. It fits my 2018 Whyte 905 (27.5+) perfectly via the mounting points built in to the frame. I added a couple of rubber O rings between the guard and the down tube just to stop any damage to the frame. It’s light, easy to fit and does exactly as it’s designed to do, i.e. catch crud!! When shredding a filthy trail at high speed I’m confident that it’ll keep all the muck out of my face. A no brainier kind of purchase really. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product for eliminating the up-fling *by B***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 January 2015* Does the job. The soft rubber tip doesn't get quite up to the fork crown in straight ahead position, but gets very close, and only interferes at big steering angles - a pretty good compromise. The up-flung dirt that it can't catch (near the crown) is more narrowly focussed so it's mostly blocked by your frame anyway, just make sure you headset lower race is well sealed.Could it be better? Maybe, longer, more sculpted, softer rubber front? Lighter main body? All compromises, I think it's a 4 1/2 star product as is, but maybe not quite 5 stars.While it eliminates the up-fling of dirt from the upper-rear of the front tyre, it can't prevent the forward-flung stuff that comes off the top of the tyre, loops back in the wind, and lands right on your face.
