My daughter is 8 and loves this book. It is a fun read. Great pictures.

I had no idea what this book was about or that it was comic book style. My daughter wanted this book because she saw it at her school book fair. I purchased it on amazon because it was way cheaper than the fair. This book is about a girl that faces the struggles of moving and going to a new school, and experiences the gift of Mother Nature. This really resonated with my daughter since we just moved and she’s the new girl at school. We haven’t started our period yet over here but this was a nice way to introduce it. My daughter really enjoyed the book and all the different languages within it. The back of the book has a glossary so you know what all the French, Romanian, and Chinese words mean.

The art style is cute, but the story is kinda mid so far. A lot of the dialogue is “blah blah blah” which I kind of get since it’s supposed to show how she doesn’t understand the language much but this makes it a little less interesting and less reading. I haven’t finished it yet but I hope it gets better. Still nice tho

This book helps kids get ready for what’s going to happen in an adult life I say nine and up should read this

I am a big fan of Cassandra Calin’s work, so I was really looking forward to this book. After reading it I can definitely say it was worth the excitement! I loved it! It’s about her life when she was 12, she and her family moved to Canada from Romania, and it’s about that first year or so. Her struggles with the language, fitting in, making new friends… just all about starting a new life in a new country. It’s so sweet and the art is lovely! I’m really hoping this will be a series, that there will be more books, because a few things were left open in the end. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes graphic novels, and especially to fans of Calin’s work! Buy it, you won’t regret it! 💕

My 11 year old LOVED this book. She is a tricky one to keep engaged in books anymore, so it was a lovely surprise that she wanted to read it again !

Amazing book- both my daughters loved it (12 and 15). Definitely give it a try if you have bored tweens at home!
