This machine makes truly soft, chewable ice (maybe not the absolute softest ever, but plenty close enough). We've had it a few weeks, use it several hours each evening and so far, so good. If you are an "ice junkie", this churns out plenty of ice for two people to enjoy throughout an evening without running out. If you just want it for a few drinks, etc, I think running it for a couple of hours (while refilling the water occasionally) would make plenty of ice for a handful of people. The reservoir is relatively small for something like hosting a party and expecting this to cover a dozen-plus people's needs for hours. But for our needs, it's a winner. If it lasts a year or more, at this price, I'll consider it a really good purchase. Update 10/6: OK, the noise is quite loud at times (it varies from a low whine to a fairly high pitched and loud whine on occasion). Still enjoying the ice, and still happy with the purchase...but it's pretty loud sometimes.

I couldn't be more obsessed with a product! This is the best ice maker I've ever had! Super easy to clean, refill and empty. The ice is perfect size and it keeps it frozen for pretty long! Even when it does melt, it goes right back into the water fill area. It can be a bit noisy but for me, it's kind if like white noise. Love it!

Makes enough ice to bag and turn the machine off. Great ice machine.

We love our ice maker! It works great and makes awesome crunchy ice. Only thing we don’t love is how loud it is with filling up with water to make ice and when it dumps the Ice but that’s normal with these types of ice makers. Make sure you clean it monthly cause the inside of the back of the machine can get a little moldy.

Bought this because I got tired of driving to my local Sonic for chewable ice. I found that quality was better than theirs and I was able to use my own bottled water supplied from a local acquifer.

Works fine but is heavy & too cumbersome to store. Wish I had decided against it.
