Cable Matters [Intel Certified] 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4 Cable, 1ft / 0.3m

(At the time of this review these were selling for $28.99 for the .8m length - hopefully this will decline) Recently I purchased a Thunderbolt 4 system, docking station, and accessories and had to shop for cables that could support all USB and Thunderbolt data and charging modes. These are the first set I've purchased that actually consistently work at the maximum data throughput and power output supported by whatever they are connected to. It is a bit frustrating to once again be dealing with a set of standards where all USB C-type ports, cables, and accessories are different and not-necessarily backward compatible. It also means that we will likely be seeing more off-brand products misrepresenting their capabilities to get an Amazon sale. I would especially shy away from "USB 4" cables "claiming" to also be Thunderbolt compatible but lacking the certification as two other less expensive, generic cables I picked up were basically heavy-duty USB cables that could not consistently operate with genuine Thunderbolt devices. The price at the time of purchase was a bit off-putting as getting a pair of these into my road-warrior bag was a $60 investment, but as I've come to expect from Cable Matters products they are very well constructed and work as advertised. If you need the speed, power, compatibility and want to carry as few cables as you have to for traveling (or simply need true Thunderbolt 4 throughput and power), these cables will get the job done.

I've been using this cable with my 2019 MacBook Pro (4 Thunderbolt ports) and it's been a game changer. After months of frustration with various docks, KVMs, eGPUs, USB dongles, and a mountain of cables, nothing seemed to work reliably. I tried 4 docks, 3 eGPUs, 2 enclosures, and countless cables. Just as I was about to give up, I found this cable in my laptop bag, a backup I had ordered and forgotten about. Plugging it in, all my connectivity issues disappeared like magic. Most other Thunderbolt cables in this price range are braided, stiff......thick.....When shopping for "the best cable", you look at these cables and think "oh yeah this chonky boy will do" but it won't. It won't do. This cable is different. It's smooth and surprisingly flexible, it doesn't tangle easily, and the connectors slot in with a reassuring consistency. There's never any doubt about whether it's plugged in correctly. Despite unassuming appearance, it's rated for 240W power delivery and 40Gbps throughput (and it will indeed step up to the plate when needed) In a setup plagued with compatibility and connectivity issues, this cable emerged a hero. Whether it was a stroke of luck, divine intervention, or something I overlooked, this cable defeated over $500 of extra gear and a pile of other Thunderbolt Cables. For it's unwavering consistency, reliability, and overall performance, this cable gets a full 5 stars no question. Buy this cable.

Durable, pretty thick cable, and fast transfer speeds on external SSD. Works great for powering and connecting external portable monitor without the need for an additional power cable. Great for cleaning up the desk a bit! I am glad I spent a bit of extra money to go with a well reviewed brand. Appearance wise, looks like any other usb-c thunderbolt cable, but the black is appreciated as it blends in with everything else.

Full Thunderbolt 4 spec, and it actually delivers on it. Data transfer and charging both hit their rated numbers instead of quietly underperforming, which has happened with several other cables I've ordered. Build quality is solid and the cable is thick but flexible rather than stiff (even compared to other cables rated for the same speeds), with a snug connector fit on both ends. The listed price runs on the high side for a cable this short, but it has held up to the numbers printed on the box in a way cheaper cables in this category have not. So far this cable has been rock solid for me connecting my MacBook Pro M5 to a docking station and on to two monitors. The cable is marked with a small 4 near the connector to identify it as Thunderbolt 4 rather than plain USB-C, which is helpful for visually distinguishing between this cable and standard USB-C cables.

I really like the cable so far. The 3.3ft version is great for my needs. At first I could only find 1.5 or 2ft cords, but glad I happened to find this 3.3ft one. As you can see in the picture, mine was labelled as 240w on the cord and has a 4 to designate it as a Thunderbolt 4 cable. I'm not using it as a Thunderbolt cable currently though, only as a USB 3.2 cable for high speed data transfers for video editing with a SSD drive, and it's working great for that. I mainly bought this cable to help future proof against needing a different cable down the road. I'm keeping it plugged into my USB C port in the back of my computer and just plugging in my SSD's and card readers as needed. It has good flexibility to it and isn't too stiff when I have to maneuver it around to change drives.

It works. But to see the wattage on the Thunderbolt 4 Cable look for the Watts in a very small black inprint behind one of the cable ends.

For highspeed, reliable data transfer, these are excellent. Whether using for a NVME adapter or direct thunderbolt network connection. Sub 0.3ms ping and straight 1.0gbps sustained file transfer on 80gb files. As for the length, please,.do not complain if you don't know why a shorter cable is required. You cannot sustain high speed, reliable data transfer over longer cables. The shorter, the better, especially for thunderbolt. These are high quality cables.

Hands down the best USB C cable on the market. Fits like a snug, extremely flexible, & SUPER FAST CHARGING. Not to mention super fast data connection speed, isn't as clunky as it's predecessor cable but better very flexible & feels durable.. The $25 price is steep but it's worth the money than to gamble on lower tier cables. Cable Matters strikes again with a HIGH QUALITY CABLES

これまでCable Matters製のケーブルを使ってきて、特に問題が生じたことがなかったため、Thunderbolt 4ケーブルも同社製のものを購入した。 今の所、特に問題なく利用できている。 長さは 0.8 m のものを購入。 ケーブルはやや硬めであるが、短いものを選んだため、あまり不満に感じることはない。 よくケーブルを巻いて保管する人は、やわらかめのケーブルを選んだ方が良いと思う。 同じケーブルでも長さが色々選べるため、統一感を出したい人におすすめ。 また、端子に "4" と書かれており、一発でThunderbolt 4規格と識別できる点も魅力の一つである。

Woks great. I purchased this to replace an actual "Apple" cable and haven't noticed a bit of difference at less than half the cost. Save your money.

El cable funciona muy bien y se ve de buena calidad. Lo he probado con una variedad de dispositivos, sistemas operativos y para diversos propósitos, incluyendo transferencia de datos, conectar pantallas y cargar dispositivos. Ha cubierto todas mis expectativas en cuanto a velocidad y compatibilidad. El precio me parece razonable para un cable certificado Thunderbolt 4.

Si comme moi vous avez rencontré des soucis de déconnexion ou de réveil de votre moniteur avec votre Mac à processeur M (M1,M2, M3, etc), c'est le cable qu'il vous faut ! Il maintient une bonne connexion avec l'ordinateur et évite les écrans noirs qui ne se réveillent plus après une mise en veille, ce qui me forçait à débrancher/rebrancher mon ancien cable. Comme quoi il faut mettre le prix pour ne pas être embêté, je recommande fortement !
