It is just the right size, has convenient enough pockets, and is very comfortable, especially with its mesh shoulder straps.The bladder is not as convenient to fill as some higher-priced variants, but it works perfectly and never leaks.The bite valve does leave a bit to be desired, as it leaks a bit when left in the open position. I replaced mine with an Osprey for five bucks, and still consider it an excellent value. It is a struggle to open the mouth end of the tube to suck water out and when I manage that, the bladder collapses on the intake of the tube (despite that being the bottom of a half full bladder) and I barely get a sip out. So for the rest of my recent hiking vacation, I left the bladder part in my hotel room and kept a water bottle or two in the back compartment and had to ask my wife to reach it out for me when I wanted a drink.But it was great for my unusual 2nd purpose. My camera is very heavy and its neck strap hurts me too much to use. The D rings on the front of this pack are perfectly positioned. I ditched the camera bag strap entirely and bought a pair of big plastic carabiners to attach the camera bag as shown.
