The SVST Pro Edge Beveler Side edge file guide is used for precisely setting and sharpening side edge bevels. This is so much better than the plastic guide I have been using.  Very sturdy and stable.  Make sure you purchase good files and diamond stone to use with this.

A file and allagator clamps from Home Depot (really inexpensive) provides a nice sliding and positive feel to the edge and as with my other tool does not remove as much metal as the smaller tools.
