As I am 100% sugar-free on a regular basis, but wanted to have something for the rare occasion that I just had to have something sweet, these are an indulgence. They aren't sugary sweet, but just lightly sweetened through natural sweeteners. The vanilla taste is more a scent-based aspect than they are part of the flavor. The main taste you have is the date/almond combination. The texture is chewy like warm granola and the bites are very addictive. If you have a hard time stopping with a serving (and it doesn't tell you exactly how many pieces you can have -- I stick with no more than 4 as a serving), you will want to either separate this into small pre-measured servings or deal with the fact that you're going to eat the whole bag. They really are that good. I highly recommend them.
