All or most all of us are familiar with the standard entrelac, but included in this book are lace and ribbed, as well as beaded variations; circular and triangular entrelac; entrelac knit into star patterns; and even braided entrelac. So many ways that I had never considered before! For knitters who are completely new to entrelac, pick up Drysdale's prequel volume, Entrelac: The Essential Guide to Interlace Knitting , for a thorough introduction. You should feel very comfortable with picking up stitches, so if you've never done that before, get some practice before you try entrelac. Entrelac works best with either solids or with variegated yarn that has been dyed in long runs like gradient yarns, such as Wolltraum My Melodyy 4-ply and Kim Dyes Hand-Dyed Challah Fingering . My only question is that it doesn't rate the size yarn being used in the projects and doesn't use yarns available in my area. Includes directs for beginning entrelac knitters but has lots of ways to make it more fancy. I love entrelac knitting.
