The instructions are completely useless, especially the wiring instructions, but it is believed that the red and black of the coil connects to the red and black of the engine unless you add a headlight, then white wire it, and the emergency switch wire connects one to the two red wires and one to the two black wires. Trust! It was easy to start the first time, no damper needed. Overall, this is a great kit and I love it!
