Handle was a bit rough and required finish sanding. Brand label on handle is recessed and creates an annoying ridge on the handle. Base of handle is unsanded and has a rather sharp edge. Paddle is attractive, but lack of finish sanding or any kind of lacquer is a bit puzzling. I would recommend searching for a better quality paddle unless you want blisters.

I like the quality of both the paddles and the balls, however, the smell associated with the paddles is horrible. We have set them out to air out and try to get rid of the smell for over a week. The smell is better now, but still has not gone away entirely. I have updated this review after the seller contacted me and sent out another set at no charge. The smell was much better on the replacement set.

The price point was good, so I tried these paddles. One side of each paddle is black and the other side is red. I personally prefer separate colored paddles. The rubber is VERY sticky and doesn't allow for a good return. It's supposed to be helpful when spinning the ball, but I didn't have much success with these paddles. The wooden grip is okay, but I prefer rubber. This is a good product, but just not well-suited for me or my opponent.

You do get what you pay for. They are sturdy and reasonably priced but the rubber has a very sticky feel where the balls almost stick to the paddle. I think I will pay more for a better paddle but these are ok for beginners.

The set was worth the price really good paddles

Wow - I was just looking for a terrible set of paddles for guests to mess around with, and was really blown away by the value when these came in. Double rubber layers, sticky rubber, top weighted balance... these really should cost at least 3 times for what I got them. My serious table tennis playing friends were really impressed by the value - they were so happy to be able to do spins and slice with these. Now I guess I have to take care of the paddles haha

My grandson loves these, he says they're way better than the ones that came with his table.
