So after reading everybody's reviews and looking at a bunch of different plug and Play Android radios for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma this seemed to be the best option for what I could gather reading reviews for many many different plug and Play double DIN radios it really was simple there are videos on YouTube easy to find the stereo comes out extremely easy the only really difficult part was taking the clock and hazards off the old radio to install on the new but it's doable it is truly plug and Play for some reason there was two plugs left over maybe that went to the CD player from the original radio I'm not sure but I love it my steering wheel controls still work I do not need an extra backup camera because there is one from the factory in the rear view mirror the external mic is a big plus I plugged it in and mounted a right above the steering wheel and clipped it where the odometer is I will say it does have a little bit of lag and could be brighter for the daytime but really for what you pay $200 and installable for yourself you really can't beat this radio the Bluetooth works great for phone calls or YouTube music or podcasts Google Play is great for downloading whatever you like I watch YouTube a lot just to catch the news and it is already built in to the radio software I just connect my hotspot and good to go the Android auto works good sometimes it glitches a little bit but again it really brings this truck into the 2020s I think it adds value and style a lot of functionality. People that say they can't get their steering wheel controls to work must be doing something wrong I had no issues whatsoever again I recommend somebody that is looking for a plug and play Android stereo for their truck to purchase this they will be happy the only thing extra I purchased was the little yellow clips I wanted to use new ones and not take them from the old stereo they're only like $7 on Amazon. Everybody that sees it says they want one for their vehicle when I get time I will upload a short video but this radio is great and when I did have a question the customer support they got back to me it might take 24 hours or so but customer support is great I would definitely purchase this again wish somebody else would have left a detailed review like this for me I would have made my decision a lot sooner I don't think you will be unhappy as long as your expectations are not like you are getting a brand new iPad with super fast software it works really really well five stars

I did a lot of research looking to replace my factory stereo in my 2005 Tacoma and this one looked to be the best based on reviews and price and I am so happy with this purchase. It is a impressive unit just in the box. Install was very much plug and play. Steering controls worked and are very much customizable for whatever you like. I needed to watch a few YouTube videos to figure out why the buttons (soft buttons) didn’t work and it is the same menu you need to be in for setting up the steering controls. I have an IPhone and connecting to Bluetooth and CarPlay wireless works real well. It takes a little bit to connect (20 sec) but I have had no issues connecting and it works perfectly. I haven’t tried the USB connections since the wireless works great. I added a aftermarket backup camera and it needs to be connected differently but I reached out to their tech support and pointed me in the right directions. This head unit comes with an external microphone you can install but it also has a built in mic and so far I find it works perfectly. I can always install the ext mic later if I feel I need to. Overall it is really good and I am very happy! Just remember you do get what you pay for so it might take some time to set it up like you like and it’s not perfect but it looks so good installed and it sounds so much better than my old factory unit. For the price you can’t go wrong.

Install was straight forward. steering wheel control was easy once you knew where to find the programming location. (Hint: it's on a little info card) My issues come with the sound qualities. I use Amazon Music and pay for the HD upgrade, the issue is each song played thru the head unit sounds like it's random bit quality. Some of it even sounds lo-fi!. On top of that different volume levels as well as a 1 second glitch/hiccup, each song. where all sound stops then restarts! Next issue is if you change the display screen many of the preset choices you have no phone call choices visible. Your only choice is to use your phone to start the call. no phone screen for easy access to contacts or to voice activate a call. On the default screen it's available but not if you change the default layout. At least on the one I liked. Next issue is same but for test messages. in 2023 you would think an incoming text would initiate a popup on the screen but not on this unit. you can only lower the screen brightness a small amount and only the home screen. and subsequent screen changes when it's evening/night and it's like looking at the sun and there is no changing it that I have found. night driving it is FAR TOO DISTRACTING and I have to turn the unit off. Getting Google maps to work is impossible. I even tried signing into my google account on the radio as well as tethering and hotspotting to/from my phone, which I hate doing, and still can't get it to populate. I'd like to get real-time feedback on traffic while driving. If I hadn't been able to get the steering wheel controls programmed I would have returned this unit immediately but since my factory unit died, and I enjoy music far too much on my daily commutes I'll keep it. I'm going to try the USB connection and see it that fixes the poor sound quality. It might be the wireless coding degrading the sound, but in 2023 I'd rather NOT be forced to be "wired in". I'm looking for the convenience of getting in the truck and not connecting via wires to have to enjoy my music. with all this said for the price it's JUST barley worth keeping. It looks great in my Tacoma. It would look better if they had the option to choose a grey surround to match my interior as shiny black is not my first or second choice. I also left the screen protector on and touch screen still works well. 3.5 stars at most. It's close but just not there.

Don't buy this. Lasted less than 1 year. It installed fine, looks great, but it's cheap garbage. Right away, the steering wheel fwd/back controls are reversed. Sound quality is awful. Within 1 month it would intermittently shut off and not come back on until the next day. Restarts while driving occasionally. Map randomly spins while not moving. Less than 1 year later, the screen started flickering like crazy, turned a bunch of colors and finally went black for good. Into the trash it goes, unfortunately.

It’s plug and play right out of the box. Easy installation with all the harnesses included. The boot logo can be switched easily although you don’t see it unless you reboot the unit. It’s quick and doesn’t have any lag. All steering wheel controls work when programmed. The wifi reception is poor even when parked near a router. I used my phone as a hotspot instead since it was connected to the wifi. Sound quality is good.
