desertcart.com: IdeaFormer IR3 Smooth Textured P1S X1C PEI Build Plate for Bambu Lab, Double Sided PEI Spring Steel Sheet Flexible Bed Plate for Bambu Lab X1 X1C P1P P1S A1 3D Printer Platform : Industrial & Scientific Review: Great plate - If you’ve ever tried to print something and ended up with a messier result than a toddler with a finger painting kit, then this double-sided build plate is your new best friend. The IdeaFormer PET PEY Build Plate for the Bambu Lab P1S is like the superhero of 3D printing accessories—minus the cape, but with all the saving-the-day vibes. First off, the dual-sided magic of this plate is nothing short of miraculous. It’s like having two different flavors of ice cream—except in this case, it’s two sides of perfection for your prints. One side might be feeling extra sticky, and the other side is just chill. It’s versatile and adaptable, like the Swiss Army knife of build plates. Installation? Piece of cake. You don’t need a PhD in rocket science to get this baby up and running. It’s so straightforward that even your cat could probably figure it out (if only it could reach the printer). And the best part? No more wrestling with your prints to get them off. It’s like they just can’t wait to leap off the plate and into your hands. The adhesion is so reliable that it’s practically a commitment. Your prints stay put like a well-behaved puppy—no unexpected detours or slippages. I once tried to print a delicate piece that was more intricate than a spider’s web, and it came out flawless. My printer’s new BFF, for sure! In summary, if you’re tired of the build plate drama and want to experience printing nirvana, grab this build plate. It’s like having a trusted buddy who always shows up, never complains, and makes everything look great. Cheers to fewer headaches and more beautiful prints! Review: Ripples and Zits... NO MORE (UPDATED) - UPDATE 08/13/2024 After my initial review IdeaFormer reached out and offered me a replacement plate. I did a test print of the first layer of the same object I did for my review, using the same filament and the same slicer settings. The print came out almost perfect. I did notice that the plate you sent, the carbon fiber side pattern orientation is not the same as it was with the old plate. Not a problem, and actually I believe it is better since it looks like the nozzle traveling in a direction perpendicular to the pattern seems to enhance it a little. On the Small Diamonds side I noticed a small surface defect, in the middle, close to the bottom of the plate. Since that is an area where most likely I will not need to print, it is acceptable. Note that a little later, after I cleaned this side with alcohol, the white portion of this defect disappeared. However, looking at an angle, in that place you can see an indentation. But as I said... no problem. I only printed using PLA. Adhesion is good. I let the plate cool to room temperature, after which I had to flex the plate a little and the object simply popped off I expect that with good upkeep this plate will have a reasonable life. It is nice to see that some manufacturers/sellers read the reviews here and try to please the customers. INITIAL REVIEW Unfortunately, I have to join the group that gives a 1 star review for this build plate. The attached pictures are of the first print I did on the Carbon Fiber side of the plate. The thing is that the irregularities seen in this picture happened on 2 subsequent prints of the same object, in the same place. Other build plate do not have this issue. This is the first layer, using Sunlu PLA Plus filament. The pictures show the back side of the first layer (not the side in contact with the plate) but these irregularities are also visible on the other side.

I'm impressed. Good value.
Great adhesion without the need to add any modifiers. I've printed a variety of materials on these, and think they're definitely a good deal. They look cool, they leave a nice finish on your parts, and they have a good thickness that stands up to repeated pulling off from magnetic beds. I'd say these offer some pretty good value for money, and allow you a wider range of functionality with your 3D prints.

Disappointing. Cool idea. But nothing sticks to the starry side of the plate
UPDATE: I tried the CF pattern side of the plate and PETG just does not stick to this not matter what is done. I did exactly as described and cleaned it with Iso Alcohol and a microfiber cloth before printing and not even the first line of the print sticks. Very disappointing. Maybe it works with LA. I don't know but PETG is definitely listed on this description as compatible and for me it just is not at all. If I am missing something I would love someone to tell me what I am doing wrong. So far this plate is basically useless. Origginal I tried 3 times to make a PETG print on the stary side of this plate. First attempt. Brand new straight out of the box. Used the Smooth PEI/High Temp plate setting as recommended in the description. Peeled the protective film that came on the plate from the factory and was very careful not to touch the print surface with my fingers and the first layer failed horribly immediately and scrambled within the first 30 seconds of the print starting. I thought, ok it must need to be cleaned before use. I washed with dish soap and hot water like I do with my real Bambu PEI textured plate. Nope. Same fail. The first layer just pealed and scrambled. So I came on here and read some reviews that recommended cleaning with alcohol. I washed again and then sprayed with 99% iso alcohol and wiped with a new microfiber cloth and I slowed the first layer speeds down to half the standard speed settings in the bambu generic PETG profile. It made it a little farther into the first layer of the print, but it still failed terribly. The was on the side of the plate with the refractive starry pattern. I have not tried the Carbon Fiber pattern side yet. Maybe that will work better, it looks like it has a more agressive texture and maybe the PETG will hold to it better. But I bought this for the refractive pattern so its pretty much a fail for me. I have only tried PETG at this point. The project I had in mind to use this with needs the PETG so it is possible it might work better with PLA or some other materials. I will put this to the side and experiment when I have more time, but on my P1S combined with generic eSun PETG it is useless. I switched back to the stock Bambu textured PEI plate that came with the P1S and instantly printed a perfect part. So I know its not my printer or the filament. Disappointing. I gave it 2 stars because may there is use with other materials or on the other side of the plate. Otherwise for my use it was 1 star.

Very pleased with this bed plate works very well on my X1. Only slight thing the printer does not recognise the plate but a minor thing for excellent prints.

I've seen a lot of reviews with issues mentioning the adhesion issues on the carbon fiber texture side specifically. I was able to get it working for PLA, have not tried other filaments. After dialing in settings - playing with higher and lower bed temperatures, different inital layer height, speeds and acceleration - I was able to get perfect adhesion, and have the texture appear perfectly on the prints using the following on the bambu A1 with the 0.2mm standard preset: Build plate: Textured PEI (it doesn't work well with the smooth plate/high temp) Initial layer height: 0.1mm Initial layer speed: 20mm/s Initial layer acceleration: 100 mm/s^2 For the bed temp: Initial layer bed temp: 65-70 degrees C Post initial layer: 55 degrees C Other than that, the plate quality is great, no issues out of the box and it was packaged securely. Hope this helps anyone who may be struggling!

It works just like the orginal Bambu plate. I think the smooth side works really good for sticking the PLA filament.
