Amazing product
Great product at a good price. I wear on golf course, so much easier to play golf ⛳️

Great value but score accuracy touchy!
Great value for the price, easy to use but you must remember to tag your club to the watch for each stroke as well as the number of puts or your final score is going to be wrong... Editing your score card in the software after your round can be complicated!

Needs some work
This watch is very disappointing. It does some basic things well but the features that I was really interested in just don’t work. I have taken some time before writing this review because I wanted to make sure I understood the watch and I wanted to try it multiple times to ensure that my review was fair and correct. I originally ordered the V5 watch bundle with the tracking tags in April. The major problem I had was with the recognition of the tags. The watch simply wouldn’t recognize the tags unless I pressed them against the watchband. I tried taking multiple practices swings as they recommend, and that didn’t help. Possibly other people are willing and conscientious enough to remember to always touch the tag to the band, but I am usually thinking about something else when I’m getting ready to hit a ball. I reached out to Shot Scope and they were very helpful. They didn’t know why I was having the problem, but they sent me another watch fairly quickly. The second watch was the same as the first. They even asked me to send them the data from the watch and they confirmed the problem and offered to send me a third watch. They were out of stock, so they offered me an X5 instead. I actually like the functionality and UI of the X5 better, but the problem persists. The club recognition feature just doesn't work. In addition, it sometimes gets lost. I recently played a round and on the 12th hole, I hit a wedge across the green. The watch went into “Pin Collect” mode but I needed to chip again so I exited that mode. I then hit my chip shot and tried to get back to the putting mode. I tried everything I could think of but at that point the watch was stuck on the 12th hole and was useless for the rest of the round. Could be that I just didn’t know how to operate it but the UI shouldn’t require me to carry a manual around with me. I am way beyond any return window, so I guess I’ll just keep the watch and use the features that do work. Summary: Pros: 1. Very useful as a GPS watch. Gives me good and accurate distance to the greens 2. Course layout maps are useful, showing me range to hazards 3. All my local courses are in their database 4. Support is very responsive Cons: 1. Failure to recognize tags 2. Takes a long time to acquire GPS 3. Somewhat complex user interface 4. Not fault tolerant.

Watch screen is quite dim.
I bought this to replace a V3 Shot Scoope. This V5 watch works well, but I have some comments about the overall design and sales information though. The watch strap buckle is reversed, like previous versions of this watch. This isn't a show stopper, but overall the strap and buckle design are very annoying and unwieldy. The watch face has a very weak backlight and is very dim indoors. It looks fine in sunlight/outdoors though. The product photos however, are misleading as they show a very bright watch face. The time the backlight stays active when the watch is used indoors is something like 3 seconds, and there is no option to extend it,m so that's close to useless. GPS is very fast and accurate. Tag registration/reading and/or shot detection isn't always successful. Maybe 5 pct of shots don't get captured if you don't keep track. The Play Better store sold this bundled with a 5000 mahr powerbank, but the powerbank doesn't work. Won't charge out of the box. Amazon AI assistant says the only way to remedy is to return/refund the entire package. That's extremely wasteful, so I'll just eat the 10 dollars the "package" added to the cost of the watch.

Doesn’t Sync properly
I’ve played 3 rounds with the watch so far and while playing; I had little to no issues during the rounds with distances or inputting the scores and putts on the watch. At the end of each of the rounds, the scores matched up perfect from what I input over the course of the round. Here are the syncing results for each of the rounds: Round 1: synced successfully but the scorecard that populated on the app was 5 shots off with varying scores on different holes. Round 2: No issues during round with inputs but attempting to sync, the watch froze, stating not to power off watch while syncing. It stayed that way for 45 minutes until I had to force reset the watch, thus losing the round information. Round 3: once again, no issues with inputs over the course of the round and verified score prior to saving it on the watch. When syncing, the round posted in the app but once again, it showed me as shooting a 35 vice a 40 (12 hole par 3 course). It gave me 2 birdies and 1 par when in reality, I had 4 bogeys and 1 birdie. The holes all had mixed up scores as well in the posted round in the app. Overall, this watch is extremely unreliable when syncing rounds which makes the shot and club tracking pointless.

Very serious data syncing problems
The main point of this watch is to record shot data and to upload that data for strokes gained analysis. For many users there are substantial problems with the upload procedure. Data doesn't sync. Consequently the rounds shots cannot be analyzed. If you look at the user support boards on the Shot Scope website you will see dozens of complaints about this problem without a single suggestion from their tech support as to what to do about it. Pointless product.
