Well bring on the new version. First, it is easier to hook up on first bolt because it has a swivel head and you don't have to worry about it not pointing out. It aligns itself. Second, it is easier going pulling slack. Especially on overhang or if you're in a panic to clip and need some slack quickly. It will still hang but not anywhere near as bad. Third, it is much lighter that the original so easier to carry around. Fourth, my only ding is that the button you press to open it can be a real pain. Mostly when you're up on the wall and trying to get it open when you're beat from a hard climb. The original is easier in this case.
