worth the money
It is a good camera with adequate range and clear picture/video. I would recommend it.

Surprisingly Powerful Little Security Cam! Super Clear & Reliable
The Blink Mini 2 really impressed me for such a compact indoor camera. The HD video quality is sharp, and the new color night view is a huge upgradeโit actually lets you see details in low light instead of a washed-out grayscale. Motion detection is quick and accurate, and I love that it doesnโt constantly spam false alerts. The built-in spotlight is a nice touch too, especially if you want a little extra visibility at night without turning on a full room light. The two-way audio is clear on both ends, making it perfect for checking in on pets, talking to kids, or just monitoring whatโs going on in the house. Setup was super easyโplug it in, connect to the app, done. For the size and price, this camera delivers way more than expected. Whether you want a reliable home security boost or just a way to keep an eye on your pets, the Blink Mini 2 is a great choice.

Where did the color go? (great customer service)
UPDATE: again. I reached out to the company and they were great. They trouble shooted (what I had already done myself) but in the end they are sending out another camera. Can't complain about that. All other cameras are still doing great. Changed to 5 stars for great customer service. UPDATE: After a couple of months the picture was bleached out. I tried everything I could and finally reached out to the manufacturer, we'll see what happens. I did purchase other cameras and they all are doing fine but they are the upgraded ones not the older one like this one. great little camera but the picture is bleached out now. My hair is brown but shows up as light purple. Very disappointing as the unit itself is easy to use and move around from room to room as needed. Its just what I was looking for. I do have a newer version of this one also, we will see how long this one lasts.

A modest and budget friendly plug-in security camera.
A modest and budget friendly plug-in security camera. Perfect for keeping an eye or checking up on pets and kids. Pros: The camera itself captures video in full HD (1080p) up to 30 fps (frames per second), which is quite reasonable. You can lower the resolution and fps if you do not have high speed internet. The field of view is excellent, a 143 diagonal and 115 horizontal. You can cover an entire room or broad area without needing extra camera's. Night vision works well, it uses an LED spotlight for color night vision in addition to IR (infrared), which is excellent for capturing footage in dark or dim-lit areas. The Mini 2 supports "person detection", which can help reduce false alerts, so you're less likely to get notifications from shadows, branches, etc. A nice upgrade over very basic motion-only cameras. You can define activity / privacy zones, and limit which parts of the camera's view will trigger alerts (or be blocked from view). Also helpful if you don't want constant alerts from a busy street or passer-by's outside a window. Now, as for the intergration with smart home devices: If you use Amazon Alexa, the Mini 2 integrates pretty smoothly, you can use voice commands, view live feed on an Alexa device, etc. Including any compatible devices, along with the Blink app you can make use of two-way audio, you can hear what's going on and speak back (Helpful for calming anxious pets who might need to hear your voice!) Now for the drawbacks.. Advanced features like cloud storage of clips, person detection alerts and continious live-view recording require a subscription, e.g. Blink Basic. If you want to store video locally which requires no subscription, you need to purchase a separate device called the "Sync Module 2" and a USB flash drive. For outdoor use, you will likely need to buy the optional weather resistant power adapter, which can all add to cost and shifts it away from just 'plug and go'. While the video and audio quality is acceptable, it is not premium. 1080p is quite modest by today's standard. It is not enough to, for example, clearly zoom in on a license plate or small detail far from the camera. Audio performance is mediocre, sometimes even light white noise or general sounds can just be picked up as static. There is no remote movement, no ability to pan and no physical privacy shutter. So you have to choose a 'static' view, and if you want to re-angle coverage, you will need to manually adjust it. The IR camera when it's in use makes a loud 'click' noise. Not ideal if you want a hidden camera, you can turn off the IR camera, but then you will not see much in the dark, I recommend a small lamp or night light in the area you want to cover. Motion detection can sometimes be inconsistent, or trigger on irrelevant things. Not too often, but it can be bothersome. There is also the LED spotlight, which again, if you want a hidden camera, you will have to tape over it. Conclusion: The Blink Mini 2 is great for someone on a budget and want a simple 'set and forget' indoor camera, whether to monitor a living room, children's room, small office or pets. It's good for those who want live-view, occasional motion alerts or to check on pets/children. Not high detail security for break-in's. I would not recommend it to those needing security-grade footage, or those who dislike ongoing subscription costs as many useful functions require it. My verdict: Good basic camera, but know it's limits. The Mini 2 strikes a strong balance for what it aims to be: A budget friendly, simple, plug-in 'keep an eye on this spot' camera, rather than a professional-grade security system. It's wide field of fiew, color night vision, and simple two-way audio make it a solid pick for everyday home monitors, especially for pets, kids or casual indoor surveillance. However you should go in with realistic expectations. If you expect a razor-sharp video capable of identifying distant faces or license plates, or want a camera you can trust for serious security scenarios, (e.g. front-porch package theft, home break ins). The Mini 2 will likely disappoint. The need for a subscription or extra hardware to unlock core features means the final cost will be higher than the box price suggests. In short: For the price, it's a smart 'starter cam' or supplementary camera, but not a heavy duty security solution. Setup can be a little confusing if you are not at all acclimated to using technology and phone's as this does make use of the Blink app.

Fantastic little camera with a super useful chime feature!
I bought two of these cameras and Iโm really impressed with how versatile they are. One is set up in the living room, paired with my Blink Doorbell, and it acts as a chime. This is honestly my favorite feature, it works perfectly and makes sure I never miss someone at the door. It also doubles as a security camera when Iโm not home, so it pulls double duty without taking up much space. The second one I installed in the garage for general surveillance. I often work on my bike out there, and sometimes I donโt hear the doorbell when deliveries arrive or friends stop by. Now the garage camera chimes when someone presses the doorbell, which is incredibly convenient. I love that both cameras serve as reliable chimes and functional security cameras. As a camera, the Blink Mini 2 performs really well for the price. The picture is clear, the field of view is wide, and the compact design makes it barely noticeable. Overall, Iโm really happy with these and would definitely recommend them if youโre already in the Blink ecosystem or looking for affordable indoor cameras with bonus features.

Effortless Security in a Tiny Package - Blink Mini 2 is a Winner!
I've been looking for a discreet and reliable indoor security camera, and the Blink Mini 2 has absolutely nailed it. Setup was a breeze โ I plugged it in, connected it to my Wi-Fi through the Blink app, and it was ready to go in minutes. The app itself is intuitive and easy to navigate, allowing me to customize motion detection zones and notification settings with no fuss. The video quality is fantastic for such a compact camera. The 1080p HD resolution is clear, and even the night vision is surprisingly good, providing a detailed view even in complete darkness. I especially appreciate the wider field of view compared to the original Mini, it captures more of my living room, giving me better peace of mind. I also opted for the wired mounting kit, which was incredibly simple to install and allows for even more flexible placement options. Knowing I can securely mount it on a wall or ceiling is a big plus. The motion detection is responsive and accurate. I receive timely alerts on my phone whenever activity is detected in the designated zones, and the two-way audio feature is a convenient way to check in and even communicate with pets or anyone in the room. For the price, the Blink Mini 2 offers incredible value. It's a powerful little camera that delivers on its promises. If you're looking for a simple, effective, and affordable indoor security solution, look no further. Highly recommended!

Only 60s livestream w/o subscription, BS!
If you are planning to use this as a baby monitor or a pet monitor I would NOT recommend it! I had a geeni indoor camera that I was using as a baby monitor so that when I'm in the other room folding laundry or doing dishes I could always see my 3 yr old daughter playing in the living room or watching a movie and make sure that she's good and doesn't get into anything that she shouldn't. The geeni camera worked great for over a year but recently stopped showing video which was probably my fault due to dropping it on a couple different occasions. I should have just gone ahead and bought another geeni because it worked perfectly for exactly what we needed which was basically just to log in and keep the live stream viewable from our phones or tablet just like you would with a baby monitor and also to be able to communicate back and forth when needed. We made the wrong decision, however, and purchased the blink mini 2 because it was on sale and also because we have a ring doorbell and an echo that are already set up with Alexa and we figured it would be easier to get another Alexa enabled device. Boy were we wrong! The only way you can view the live stream on the blink without a subscription is in 60 second increments for up to 5 minutes. Every 60 seconds the video shuts off and takes you back to the main menu unless you hit the green continue button that pops up in the last 5 or 10 seconds of video before it turns off. So you can hit the continue button every 60 seconds for up to 5 minutes and then start it all over again which is really inconvenient if you are trying to use it as a baby monitor while you're out of the room and want to make sure your kid doesn't try to go out the front door or fall and hurt themselves in that time. Because let's face it, as a stay at home mother, I've got tons of housework that still needs to get done and trying to get them done while also keeping an eye on my daughter is difficult without a monitoring system unless I want to force her to hang out in whatever room I'm in and watch me clean up but it's even more difficult if the monitor I'm using requires me having to hit a continue button every 60 seconds for up to a max of 5 minutes. I also cannot afford to add ANOTHER subscription cost every month for something I'm using as a baby monitor, especially with it having a 10 second delay! That 10-second delay could mean the difference in me getting to my daughter 10 seconds too late God forbid. That was another thing that the geeni camera was great for because not only did it NOT require a monthly subscription just to view the livestream video but it also never had hardly any delay at all and if it did it was only for a half of a second, if that! We thought since we are able to use our ring doorbell camera without a subscription but still view the live stream from it whenever and however long we wanted that it would be the same for the blink mini because they're all made my Amazon but that's not so obviously. The worst part is that we didn't learn about the 60 second increments until after the free 30-day trial subscription ran out which also meant that it's obviously passed the 30 days that Amazon allows for it to be returned! It sucks all the way around so don't make same mistake that my family did! I highly recommend looking into the geeni cameras if you're in a similar position as me and just need something you can view the feed from whenever or as often as needed. P. S. I forgot to mention that even with the subscription you are only able to have the extended live view for up to 90 minutes at a time. Now I was never out of the room for that long but if I needed more time than that, the geeni cameras don't have a time limit for how long you are able to view the live stream.
