DARKROCK Classico Storage Master ATX NAS Computer Case with 4x120mm Fans

I bought this case as for a home NAS and Plex server. Honestly this is a pretty great case! Cons: The metal is a little thin and sharp in areas. But over all nothing that I haven't seen before in lower price point cases. Pros: I mean where to start, for the price this case is really a great case! Perfect for a sever or NAS. "Officially" it holds 12 3.5 drives, and 2 2.5 drives. Unofficially (with the help of a 3D printer) you can easily fit a LOT more 2.5 drives in and up to 4 more 3.5 drives. It has lots of room for a large power supply, full size ATX motherboard, as well as a full size graphics card. The fans it comes with are nice and quiet and move plenty of air. It looks really good for a case you're probably going to hind in a closet or under a desk. It has a great front panel. It's SUPER easy to build in, and has lots of area for cable management. It comes with more than enough hardware and screws. This is the PERFECT case for a budget server build that looks like you spent a lot more on it then you did. Honestly Darkrock keep up that great work!

5 ⭐ Love the case. Even though it is a mid size case. I can't complain for the price. You definitely get your bang for the buck on this one. It does have all the storage space it says it has. I have 12 HDDs I crammed into this thing for my old server setup. So having enough slots for HDDs was my main priority. I did go from an OLD Cooler Master Full Size ( All Beat to Hell ) Tower. So cramming everything into this mid size tower was a serious chore. Suggestions: Go with a fully modular PSU if you intend to build in this case. I still have my old Thermaltake 750w running this thing. And it is not modular by any means. It was probably the hardest thing to do in this build whereas I had issues trying to cable manage it. And the back panel doesn't give you a lot of leeway for room to close the gap. Spaghetti style PSUs are a thing of the past. So go with a fully modular PSU. Other Thoughts: It does come with 4 fans. So that was a plus. This build was for a server anyways so no RGB was necessary. And it will be sitting in my basement regardless. Out of sight out of mind. Other Other Thoughts: Air flow is fantastic. The CFMs for the front fans were set at Maximum when I fired up my software for fan controls. I set my curvature and temperature gauges so my HDDs never see temps over 32C. Being in the basement it is always nice and cold anyways. But this case definitely has excellent air flow. Little incense stick showed me where the air was flowing and nothing was coming out of the chimney. Straight in and straight out the back. The 3 fans in the front covered all 8 HDDs in the front. Which are my main storage drives. Final Thoughts: If your looking for a decent low price budget mid Tower this is the one. Super easy to build in and excellent airflow all around. There was one complaint I have and that there was not enough HDD screws available for all my HDDs. They came up short. Thankfully I build computers for a living so I always have plenty of them in my storage bins.

This thing is huge! It's pretty good, I was not able to find very many options for storage focused PC cases outside of a prebuilt NAS or actual server. Very easy to build into, lots of space, good cable management, pre installed fans with a triple splitter, room for a 360 radiator. PSU area has plenty of space for when you realize you *did* actually need that second PCIe mod cable but everything else is already installed... Couple issues worth noting, it is designed for 3.5" drives only, you cannot install 2.5" in those 10x bays. There are holes drilled in the top of each bay that will hold 5x drives, but they are too far from the edge for cables to fit. There are 2.5" carriages behind and under the motherboard if you only need a few. Also the vertical PCI slot blanks don't fit over the top horizontal slot screw and I had to remove it.

Excellent NAS case - versatile mounting options, many studs to mount zip ties, etc. for cable management, great price. I'm using it as a TrueNAS enclosure with 8 drives and it is far quieter and maintains lower temps than my old Dell server. Minor cons are the metal is a bit flimsy - which based on the price is to be expected, and some sharp edges.

The airflow is solid right out of the box, but I swapped out the front fans for a different style to better suit my setup—and the case handled it beautifully. There’s tons of room for drives, cables are easy to manage, and the overall build quality feels premium for the price. Honestly, this case made the whole process smoother and more enjoyable. I’m very impressed and would definitely buy it again for another project. Highly recommended if you’re building a NAS or just want something functional and good-looking.

WOW! absolutely pleased with this case. At first I was looking for something more budget friendly for me but I pulled the trigger on this one because of the features listed, particularly expandability and vertical PCI card support. I'm pleased to say I was not disappointed. the amount of drives you can put in this thing is insane, very thoughtful design, cable and drives can actually breath. Comes with 3 fans on front, one at the back and mesh ventilation on top.. The Absolute NAS chassis. I fitted my mATX x9scl board and I couldn't be happier for the future. Definitely recommend if you have a server or if you are thinking of building a workstation. Cable management option is great with room for the cables when you close the panel, and I was very surprised when I plugged in this thing, the silence was sweet. Also, the cage design for the drives is amazing, very compartmentalized, sturdy, makes sense. The drives stay secure and its actually very satisfying to add or remove them.. In a very odd way to me Lol.

I built a computer using this last week for a NAS so it needed lots of storage which this case provides. There's a lot of options for where to put drives. I used 10 for my build. The major problem with the case is the front hard drive bays are not positioned in an intelligent way at all. I think, based on the marketing images, that they intend for you to mount the drives so that the sata and power cords are hidden behind the motherboard, but there's no way that's happening without damaging the ports. The gap is just too tight. So I turned the drives around, to plug in the cords on the other side, and this just barely works. The fit is still so tight that I was afraid of damaging the ports. There's absolutely no reason that the drive mounting bays couldn't have been moved, either one way or the other, to have more clearance for the plugs. Other than that, which is a big problem for a hard drive focused case in my opinion, I don't have any major complaints about this case. It was fairly easy to install my motherboard, and the case fans all work fine. I guess a minor criticism is the way the side panels attach to the case and then screws on the back is more difficult than it should be. The back screws are truly junky feeling. For a basic case it looks fine. If you are reading all this, you know there's not a lot of options for cases with this much storage support, so with that in mind I do recommend it if you need the storage, but I'd highly encourage the company to make a revision to give more clearance for the plugs.

This is my second build using this case. I learned a lot from using it on my first build....plan ahead, and cable management is doable. Don't use flat cables for your SATA drives, get the super fine flexible wire style cables. This allows maximum flexibility for cable management. Modular PSU is a must to keep things somewhat tidy... So....to solve the issue with the drive cages everyone seems to mention, if you mount your lower drives upside-down it will solve the tight fitting cable issues from the lower positions of the 3.5" cages.....I think people forget that you can do that with HDDs. Doing this will force you to come up with some creative cabling if you want it to look "nice", but if you are looking for maximum utilization who cares what it looks like as long as it works.....also, this is why those flexible wire style SATA cables are almost a necessity.....otherwise, you can mount the drives with the connections facing into the chamber of the case, and just grind a small part of the cages down to accommodate the SATA connectors...either way works.....BUT.....that being said......no one should have to do that if the case was designed properly to begin with, and that's why I am only giving it 4 stars.

This is fab. The delivery took a long time but they made up for it. Cable management is good, lots of places to put them and tie them too. I think it looks great, the big grills give loads of space for airflow. The temps are down about 20c from my last case on the cpu and 10c on the drives. (Storage server). Great value for money at £70, I bought it at £123 and even then I think it is still fab. 12 drives for that little money is great. I do wonder if it really will be able to fit 12x 3.5" drives as one of the bays looks like it might be a tight fit if all the front bays are installed. Unfortunately I have not tried it. It probably is possible to just push the front bay up a bit to put the drive in. Just worth knowing it would need to be a thinner 3.5" drive instead of of one of the thicker style. It also does have 2x 2.5" drive bays aswell. Edit: Just read the listing and they updated it from 12HDDs to 13 drives. That includes ssds. I agree that all the drives will fit how they have specified. My case came with 2 hdd mounts for on the inside underneath the motherboard and just under the big stack of drives. (not in the basement part though). The drive under the mobo fits fine but the one under the stack of drives won't fit unless you have a very thin 3.5" drive (none of mine have fitted so far). This being said, I have now got 14 drives in my case. 12 HDDs and 2 SSDs, the 2 ssds are on the back of the mobo. The hdds are in all their designated slots and one is under the mobo in the little tray it came with. I managed to put 2 screws into a drive above the 2 near the psu (where it says to put an SSD, you are able to put both, only 2 screws for the HDD but I think it should be fine as it isn't going to be shaking around and it is flat anyway so I doubt it will move. Still a fantastic case, I'm going to order some 140mm fans for the front so that they all get a bit more airflow as they idled around 30-35c with 10 drives but now I've added the extra 4 hdds I suspect it might get a little toasty. I also want to test how much of a difference 140mm fans make. I would still highly recommend this case, it is nice to build in as well as easy. Feels high quality. Would buy again. (Shouldn't as I don't need another NAS however, this one is now full😂😂) Excuse the dust in the photos, the server has been built for quite a while now. Definitivamente sirve muy bien para lo que es tener la ventana de montar tantos hdd sin problema lo recomiendo solamente es muy ampleo el gabinete no sufrí al pasar los cables como otros comentarios pero también compré cables en serie

I'm building in to it now, so far it seems fine. It has all kinds of books and crannies to manage wires, and to mount 2.5'' drives. I've installed 5 so far. I can't comment on 3.5'' drives yet, as I haven't prepared to move them yet. I'm pleased with it so far.

It's not the easiest case to work with, especially if you need to replace components. That being said, for the money it's a great case for a decent home server. I am very happy with it!
