Chef'n Mortar & Pestle

I'm quite happy with this purchase. The size is just right for my intended purpose: grinding spices. It grinds well and the silicon base is very handy. It's a pleasant object to use and nice to look at. It's got a good weight to it and seems sturdy. I was a bit leery about the white color but it's easy to clean and only the main contact points have a slight discoloration. I got it in 2020 and have only recently starting using it quite regularly but have had no issues with it.

First of all, this is a truly quality mortar and pestle! After purchasing my first mortar and pestle, I learned not all are created with such quality. This mortar and pestle is ready to use. I first threw a tablespoon of rice in it to get any loose marble dust out of the bowl, rinsed and dried. That's it it's ready. What I love about it, is it has a really nice toothe and is able to grind anything with ease! Also, it is beautiful and looks lovely on the counter. I also love the silicone base!! It holds the bowl in place perfectly and the bowl has a slight inward lip so whatever you are grinding isn't constantly flying out of the bowl. I highly recommend this product! I paid full price for this mortar and pestle and have nothing negative to say about it. By the way, the first picture shows the size compared to my 8" mortar and pestle.

Materials are dangerous. Enough said but also, this would not grind a piece of rice.

My pestle got damaged after one use, and I got a quick replacement after reaching out to Chef'n's customer service. They really stand by their products! The mortar and pestle are beautiful and functional, and the silicone base makes this tool very easy to use! So far, I've used it to crush dry spices.

This mortar & pestle set is wonderful - not too big, not too small, very steady when sitting in its silicone base ring. Well sized if you want to pick it up and hold it while grinding down spices. After a couple of month's use it hasn't picked up any permanent stains though it did take some scrubbing to get a few BBQ rubbing spices cleaned out of it. My DH's hands and mine are very different sizes but we both work with it and are very happy with this choice.

Really pretty, very nice design. Looks good on the counter. It does take stains, mine still has a hint of saffron despite several washings, but really who cares. I like it a lot.

It is a beautiful mortar and pestle. Haven’t used it yet to grind spices. It says in the instructions to grind several tablespoons of rice in it before use to clean it out. I tried 3 different types of white rice and unless I wanted to spend an hour, there’s no way I could grind the rice into powder. Seems like something the manufacturer should have done, not me. Hope it grinds spices!

Has worked perfectly at a very reasonable price. Glad I didn't pay more.

The marble is chipping off rendered the ground stuff waste what a waste of thousands of rupees

I am pleased with this purchase. It arrived as promised. VERY well boxed and packaged. The quality of the stone is lovely with a nice pattern. The inside of the bowl is very rough and perfect for grabbing and grinding herbs. The pestel matches the main bowl and is comfortable to hold for grinding. I especially like the silicon non-skid base (black) which holds the bowl at any angle and grips the countertop well. The mortar is a 1 cup volume.

Love this! Good size for dried herbs and nuts and whatever. Love the fact that it can be tipped to a comfortable angle. Attractive, I have it on display on the shelf in the kitchen. Real stone, not like some that appear to be formed concrete.
