It's vague, and leaves room for your audience to ask questions without being too forward. It doesn't address death directly, but it does address the idea that sometimes living things go away, and don't come back, and that's part of life. As a middle-aged man, I am not ashamed to say I have a soft spot for this book, in spite of, or perhaps even because it's so simple and earnest.

A very soft introduction to the cycle of life, good for any child old enough to understand the words. It's vague, and leaves room for your audience to ask questions without being too forward. The death of a pet is one of the most heartbreaking events in life. This book, in a remarkably simple and beautiful way, touches on the emotions we and our surviving pets feel after a loss. It is honest about loneliness and sadness, and it ends with a message of love and acceptance. As someone who has experienced this many times, I highly recommend for any one of any age.
