The Rojo can be mounted above water only. It is a simple, mechanical valve. It is a good choice where its low flow is sufficient and its compact, non-corrosive construction is beneficial. Flow rates are restricted (maximum 1-4 gpm). Great for gravity systems as it requires no pressure (rating 0-150 psi) - yet works good with pressure. Comes complete with compact float, 3" arm, and valve. Valve has longer threads and backing nut, so it can be easily installed through a tank wall as it has its own back nut and washer. Other Rojo models available with varying sizes and flow rates. Or just 1?** A: no this unit does not come with extra extension arms. It appears to be intended to be mounted in a bulkhead fitting. The rear part in the photo is a round plastic nut that screws on a straight thread, with a flexible washer to make it seal against the bulkhead. It is not a 1/2" NPT (National Pipe TAPERED) thread. I haven't installed it yet, but the male screw that the round plastic nut screws onto appears to screw into a 1/2" NPT female PVC fitting, but it's not a tapered thread. I'm not a thread expert but I'm guessing it is a 1/2" NPS (National Pipe STRAIGHT) thread, and it fits well enough into a female NPT fitting that you could probably "make it work" by using teflon tape. It all depends on how well a male NPS thread will fit in a female NPT fitting, assuming you are trying to attach the valve to a NPT thread. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Is doing a good job of controlling the water level for the waterfall. *by R***E on Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2020* The well for the pump under our waterfall included a float valve (not one of these valves) for adding water as needed. The old valve failed (after only a year and was flooding our yard) and I bought this valve because it is small enough to fit in the space.So far, it is working perfectly. The existing piping had a 1/2" fitting, so I was able to screw this one in place with no changes to existing pipe.The switch feels a little stiff, but the float is heavy so it activates the switch with no problems. I did find that I can get the valve to start oscillating with the float bobbing up and down, turning the valve on and off. This really isn't a problem for my application, but I mention it so people know it can happen. I think it's a function of the small space that I have it in (the valve almost fills the space where the pump and the valve are).I like that you can attach the float right to the valve or use the included small arm to extend it. The direction is adjustable. I extended the arm down from the valve using this.It's only been a month so far - if anything changes, I will update my review.The valve body does sit a little higher than the old one, but since everything is covered by river rock, it's not really a problem. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Works as expected *by C***E on Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2022* Using it for an underground water reservoir on a bubbling rock water feature.
