since its creation, rayman is a game that has promised a lot and yet achieves very little. in this modern age where the ps2 is rife with well designed platformers rayman falls behind. more modern platformers such as jak and daxter and ratchet and clank have much more to offer than this dated game. At times this game has an element of fun but as the game becomes slightly more difficult (admittedly not hugely) the flaws start to appear. the control system and camera both suffer at this point. it is surprisingly difficult to jump to the nearest platform with the camera not showing it at all. the combat is basic but the upgrades are a nice touch. the most frustrating parts are the sliding levels where control is almost impossible if you are looking to pick up "lums". the bonus levels, which i have failed to complete consist of purely button bashing, offering very little in the way of rewarding skill and some element of tactics. this game s not a total loss however. it is fun in the early stages and has some good cut scenes. although graphically it looks dated it does achieve functionality. a good buy for a 6 year old but it would be a good idea to pad the room before frustration sets in later in the game through bad design. possibly worth picking up for a tenner.

Not happy at all, tried to buy rayman revolution before but they didnt have it in stock, now that they have they ended up sending me a platinum ps2 rayman revolution while it states and images show it is the original regular ps2 rayman revolution, was looking for forward to playing the game but I cant as the game is in compatible with ps2, the shilling was okay took longer than expected. Overall very disappointing.

Brilliant game and very nostalgic, the game arrived much quicker than expected.
