I used LUKS full drive encryption. I also later ordered a second one of these drives, which I use for a complete drive backup (via dd command) about once per week. I had run a speed test using gnome disks using various size files, which returned read speeds between write 370 MB/sec and 440 MB/sec and 310 MB/sec and 420 MB/sec. I use the drive 5 to 6 times per week 2 to 5 hours at a time on a journaling file system. If it doesn't last at least a year, I will update this review.
