It’s a matte finish on the screen. I take a lot of notes on the notepad app for Bible Study and this device has greatly improved my handwriting and it has made it easier to write because the screen isn’t as slippery glossy with this in place. It has NOT affected the touch function or changed the visual other than there is LESS glare. Previously, I tried to draw diagrams with my Pencil on iPad, but it just wasn’t conducive with the slippery screen. This screen protector makes it way better. The screen protector is removable/replaceable as needed, but I found that it’s easier just to leave it in place.
