A: It is water resistant. I would suggest keeping all the items in the pack inside a ziplock bag to ensure they never get wet.

**Q: Will this be good for walking field trip**
A: I would think so! It's a pretty good first aid kit.  We used ours as we were on land around camp besides at the waterfront.

**Q: Whats the largest waist size this will fit?**
A: I bought this for my daughter and she has about a 40 inch waist that it still fits around. She likes to wear it above her hips though more.

A: the gloves and cpr mask are latex free according to their packaging
