Works great, very powerful

Had a stubborn clog 20 ft from my access point in a turn. Manual auger couldn’t break through. But, this monster cleared it with little effort and very quickly. Retrieval of the auger was easy and clean up was quick and easy. Unit came charged. That was a bonus. Power was good. This tool saved me hundreds of dollars immediately and will continue to save me money in the future.

This worked well at unclogging a plugged up bathroom sink pipe. The spiral end is relatively small, so it may not be effective on a pipe over 1 1/2”. The lever(s) allow full control of the snake movement, forward and reverse. The trigger controls the speed of the snake. Unsurprisingly, It is relatively heavy, so resting it on a bucket or something similar close to the pipe was helpful for me. Much easier to use than a drill powered snake.

I just received the Workpro 20V Electric Drain Auger Snake and I immediately put it to use after charging the battery. My observations: 1. Very well built with many nice features. 2. Instruction manual needs improvement. They mention an "OFF" switch (in section 1.6(a) that does not exist and is not listed in section 4 (Know your product) This section should have been first in the manual. Technical data should be the last section of the manual. Lastly, the labeling of the switch trigger (L & R) with a center Lock defining R as clockwise is confusing; why not use CW and CCW)? 3. Battery excellent: I was able to clear 2 sinks with by running between 8 and 12 feet each time twice, and when I finished, the battery still had 4 led lights "ON", indication that it has more than 75% charge left. 4. Operation of the unit was very easy as long as you do not try to speed up the process and to be observant of the motion of the snake. The mistake many people make with drain snakes is they do not stay very close to the opening of the drain, and then by going too fast, they tangle the cable, rendering it less prone to follow the path of the pipes without getting stuck. 5. The provided bag is definitely a "plus". In summary, despite some of the shortcomings I listed above, I still like the unit and recommend it for purchase. Should I experience any issue in the future, I will definitely update this review.

I bought this specifically to use on our gutters/downspouts as our house has trees on four sides; using a hand crank augur is just too much work and time. This thing is great! We just had a major storm with high winds; half way through the storm two of our drains clogged so I was up there today to clear them; it only took minutes. Now, to be realistic there are a few things to keep in mind. You have to pay attention to what you're doing and know to stop the feed when the line gets "caught"; and bit of back and forth-ing seems to do wonders. But this is true whether you're using this machine or a hand crank. You can kink the line if you're not paying attention. I have already cleared multiple lines and no kink so far but frankly, at inexpensive as this thing is, it has already paid for itself. And the drum is replaceable. This augur is heavy for its size but that's due to the cable. I'm very pleased with the battery life. The only thing that annoys me about this augur is when I'm using the combination of buttons; you have lever for advancing the cable, neutral, or retracting the cable. You have a button to control direction of spin of the cable. However, as you use these in combination there are certainly combinations when the "reverse" becomes forward. It can be confusing but it's a small problem compared to how handy this thing is.

Perfect for DIT, save time and money at the same time

I used this unit twice. The first time everything was wonderful, unclogged the drain in my shower with no issue. Went to use it a second time and the unit stopped working. Will not retract the snake. Had to pull it out manually. Now the unit doesn't move the snake at all.
