I was not familiar with these Matter Compostable Freezer Bags until a friend brought something over in one of these bags. They have a different texture than the traditional freezer bags, but in a good way. I've always been a bit conscious of using regular plastic freezer bags, so seeing that these were compostable really makes me feel better about using them. We don't really use them for the freezer, so I cannot comment on how effective they are in the freezer, but from a standard storage perspective, they work very well, and are very well made. They're not super thin, but also not too thick, keeping them flexible. They seem to maintain a sold seal, which is obviously something you want from a storage bag.

I felt guilty every time I tossed a regular plastic bag in the trash, so I’ve been looking for compostable or biodegradable alternative for my household. I’m really glad I found these! They’re a great value - you get a total of 230 bags in different sizes, and the price is comparable to regular ziplocks. The quality is excellent - they’re thick and sturdy, leak resistant, and the zippers work very well. I’ve used them to freeze food, and they held up perfectly. Plus, you can wash and reuse them several times, which extends their life before they’re ready for composting. The box they came in is also compact and will fit most cabinets. My cabinet is narrower than most standard ones, but the box fit in perfectly, which was a nice surprise. They only downside is that they aren’t transparent like regular ziplocks, so have to label them with sharpie. Overall, I’m happy with these and feel much better about reducing waste in my home!

Good quality, opaque so I have to get used to not seeing what's in the baggie (vs plastic) but strong and no leaks and good sizes and compostable. And I like the box arrangement that fits right in my kitchen drawer.

I’m so glad I found this organizer for my kitchen drawer—it keeps everything neat and it's so convenient. The bags open easily and are perfect to use. I love that they’re eco-friendly and compostable, which makes me feel good about using them. Such a great product!

I like these disposable bags. They seem to keep things fresher, longer. I took off one star because there is no color distinction or makings between the various sizes so when I open my drawer they all look the same. Until you unwrap one you have no idea what size it will be. It’s very frustrating, especially when you are in a hurry. Maybe they could color code the ziplock portion if the bag, or change the color of the printing, or just mark the size on the bag (snack, sandwich, quart and gallon) that would help. Because of this, I still use the other brands that are out there besides using these nice bags. Sigh.

Not only are these bags environmentally friendly, but they preserve your food. Place a cut avocado into one of these bags and put in the fridge and pull it out 3 days later and it’s still green and firm.

These bags are all I use now. I love the variety of sizes. However if I need to keep something like crackers fresh for a couple days or longer it needs to be double bagged or I just used a washable container. They are very durable, they handle being thrown in pool bags, book bags and all the things!
