Feels great, looks great, plays great.
Love this. Looks great on the dock on my desk, is always charged as a result. Connecting was a bit finicky but once set up is just grab and go. Feels great in the hands and the buttons are crisp. Joysticks are perfect, no stick drift even several hundred hours in. Just a neat, well priced controller in a sea of mediocrity!

Great vibration and functionality
This controller is truly exceptional and offers a fantastic gaming experience. The design is ergonomic, making it comfortable to hold for extended periods, which is perfect for long gaming sessions. The charging stand is a thoughtful and convenient addition, ensuring that your controller is always ready to go without the hassle of constantly swapping out batteries or dealing with tangled cables. The vibration feedback on this controller is absolutely brilliant, providing an immersive and realistic gaming experience that enhances every moment of gameplay. Whether you’re navigating through intense action scenes or exploring vast virtual worlds, the vibrations add a layer of depth and excitement that truly brings the game to life. Overall, this controller is a must-have for any gaming enthusiast looking to elevate their gaming setup.

Great premium controller at a fair price but with durability issues.
Great controller - feels great and the extra paddles make it easier to play games that have more functions than buttons like Path of Exile 2. The range is decent too so I am not tied to my desk and can play on the big screen from the sofa a decent distance away. The software allows you to programme up to 3 profiles so you can have custom settings for different games. This could be settings for a particular genre or for a specific game and you can switch between these profiles at the touch of a button on the controller as well as no profile which will remove all customisation. The joysticks are accurate. The buttons are responsive and just the right amount of click/spring to it, so it's not mushy but not cheap feeling like 8Bitdo Ultimate 2C Wired version. Input latency is better than an official Xbox controllers. It has a few downsides though. Firstly the backpaddles (or any of the buttons) can only be remapped to other buttons on the controller or macros/combos of those buttons. No way to have them recognised as additional buttons or map them to keyboard keys like on a steam deck. This means you do not gain any additional buttons only a quick access to a button combo like R2 + B. The main issue though is durability. The triggers will eventually start to fail. Mine lasted about 9 months of moderate use. The sharp plastic trigger eventually cuts through the membrane resulting in it not registering a full press. My right trigger cannot go above 57% pressed. With the software I can limit the range so that games see this as 100% but the trigger with reduced range does not feel as good and I expect will eventually fail completely. To be fair most xbox controllers have stick drift in about the same time which this does not. With so many models it can be confusing about which one is compatible with what. This version works with Windows PC both cabled and wireless via the 2.4ghz dongle/dock. It also connects with android phones and tablets with games that make use of controllers. It does NOT however, work with Android TV either wirelessly or cabled. Xbox and PS5 controllers do so maybe their xbox compatible controller will work. Due to the durability I cannot give it 5 stars but it was very good while it lasted.

Really good controller
This is a really good controller. The sticks are accurate, the D-pad is good (if not on the same level as the sticks), the face buttons are positive. The shoulder buttons are good for what they are, although I've never cared for shoulder buttons myself - they're not good for fighting games. There are two remappable buttons on the underside of the controller, which address the issues I have with shoulder buttons. The overall quality is approaching that of the - much more expensive - Dualsense controllers, although obviously the 8BitDo Ultimate doesn't have a gyro, or a touch pad. The charging stand is great. The controller slides in with a satisfying click, and a white LED downlight turns on. When charging is finished, the light turns off. Battery life is good - I haven't run out of charge over extended RetroArch sessions. There is also a Type C port on the controller which can be used for charging, to play over a wired connection ot to connect the controller to the mapping software. Connecting the controller to a PC is simple - Dualsense controllers need Bluetooth for a wireless connection to a PC, and this brings with it issues, especially on Linux, which this controller is used on. The 2.4G wireless connection is seamless in contrast. In terms of negatives, while the controller works out the box, you do need an app to remap it and set the underside buttons. If you want to do this on a computer, it means you need Windows, as there is no Linux or MacOS version of the software. I haven't used the Android app. Overall, this is a very good controller that I have no issues recommending.

Great controllers in comparison to official brands
So far I will say this is probably the best controller I have ever bought, the feel is great especially compared to the ps5 and xbox , I have had it a while now and I think my ps5 one started to drift around now ish which has really put me off buying official accessories, I feel they are made cheaply and you are over charged just for the name, actually I think the version of this controller with an xbox emblem was over £10 more to buy, and I personally did not give a flying **** about having that 😂 anyways I do recommend this if you need a new controller. Also just to point out I'm using mine for a steamdeck at the moment. I'm using a cheaper turtle beach wired controller for my xbox which I use mostly for Internet search, youtube etc if I do go back to the xbox for gaming I think I will pick up another of these controllers 👍

Wore out far quicker than other controllers I've used.
Worker great until the right trigger started malfunctioning after only 6 months, after 8 months it stopped working completely. Many of the buttons had lost their tactility after only 4 months too, so there's that. May have been a faulty unit and I have used it for a few hours a few times a week but still.

Dead after a year
Nice controller, but the right trigger has broken after just over a year. At around £50, I expect something like this to last much longer.

Ok controller depending what matters to you.
I am kinda mixed about this controller. On one hand its values is simply unreal 2.4 ghz with a dongle, charging station, hall effect joysticks and additional back buttons make this a steal feature and accessory wise, but on the other hand this controller tries to borrow to many things from other controller brands features implementing them at best average. To start up with the most important thing the controller itself. The build of it feels good similar to the xbox one controller with the feel of the plastic. As someone who own the gulikit pro, xbox one, ps5 controller this is definitely on the smaller side. Its not so small that most people wont find it usable but if you have bigger hands you might find this controller problematic. The buttons and design is kinda meh, everything feels fine but its not great. The main selling point the hall effects joystick don't feel anything special compare to gullikit pro where the moment you use them you feel how silky smooth they are to move with where with 8bitdo it feels like a typical xbox one joystick, with slightly less friction The shoulder buttons copy the PS5 design but they feel more mushy and once again are serviceable but not mind blowing. The D-pad is kinda on low point for me as there is not much tactile feel to it at all, but compare to some other controller does not move a lot and you can easily rotate your finger around it for quick inputs. XYBA buttons feel exactly like the xbox one controller ones so they are perfectly fine and I don't have much to say about them. The back buttons are completely useless to me, they are way to easy to press so I am not even bother mapping them since I am constantly clicking on them accidentally. The docking station is absolutely stunning ! The controller slides right into it and it looks absolutely great, while charging there is a led strip at the bottom that lights up white and it looks very presentable. The controller fits snugly on it and will definitely not come out of it easily if moved or knocked slightly. The dock also uses usb c for its connector so you can use any power brick that is able to provide that or connect it straight to your PC for charging. The controller itself also comes with option for direct usb c charging so you don't need to carry the dock with you. Overall its a fine controller, the dock is a nice addition that I appreciate but honestly I would prefer if 8bitdo invested more money into the controller itself and skip the dock altogether. If you are simply looking for a well rounded controller that is able to do everything that other more expensive controllers can do this is it, but if you are hopping to be blown away with some aspect of it than you will be disappointed.
