Bertucci A-2S Field Watch

Rugged and solidly built military field watch - Check. Unibody stainless steel case and tough scratch resistant glass - Check. Quality Japanese Quartz movement - Check. 100M Water Resistance - Check. Comes with a good quality Zulu-style one piece strap. The design of the watch means there are no spring loaded pins to worry about as it is a solid bar across the lugs. Just means you will have to fit a Nato or Zulu type strap. Which I may just do to alter it's appearance to match my mood / attire. I just love the fact that it is a no nonsense watch that has just tells you the time in 12 and 24 hour markings and the seconds hand has a dot of luminous paint. The hourly indexes and hands are all coated in a patented 'Super Luminous' type paint. Can't wait to get it some 'battle-scars'.

Very clean looking watch. Quite large and easy to read. None of those annoying date complications that mean you have to reset things 6 times a year. I am impressed by the quality including that of the nylon strap. The glass is slightly recessed which will mean less scratching. Arrived in the UK within the advertised timescale with no worries about customs. Having set the watch to the second against the internet, which was easy thanks to the hacking movement, it is still accurate to that second after a week.

This watch was great "in the flesh", the picture here does not do it justice. This stainless steel version feels comfortingly weighty on the wrist, not sure whether the titanium version would have, and at 40 mm case diameter is perfect for average sized wrists. The dial is a joy to read, the contrast between black dial and hands & numbers is perfect together with the red sweep second hand. I wasn't sure about the enlarged 12,3,6 & 9 but this enhances the dial considerably. The 24 hour numerals are subtly in position in a way that the dial does not become crowded with numbers but are legible at the same time. Unfortunately the stainless versions do not have a date option which I prefer but this is not really too much of an issue. Glow in the dark is brilliant, the later models having "super luminous" on the dial surround. Even just before dawn it shone brightly. The earlier models were not that good I believe. Bertucci watches cannot be fitted with 2 piece straps as there are no holes for spring pins, don't be put off, changing straps is a doddle and allows lots of 1 piece strap variety. Now to the 1 piece strap. It's very rugged with a decent thickness to it and at the moment its newness means its quite stiff but I'm sure it will give when worn in. I found it comfortable to wear and the 2 metal loops mean no flapping bits of strap. Highly recommend this timepiece !

Great functional watch. I work as a farrier and personal trainer so needs to stand up to a bit, so far so good. Simple clean face, easy to read wih good lumes. Perfect size as opposed to some of the larger tough watches that just get in the way. Super service from the dealer.

My son is very pleased with his new watch. It glows in the dark really well.

Nice ! Easy to read even at my age 66 I thought it was a little off on the second hand but if you give it some light and go into a dark room and follow the second hand it pretty much hits the marks.

Bought this a a retirement gift for a friend. This watch is built to last. Chose this for its military look since it was for a former USMC. Quality build, should last many years.

This watch screams rugged durability - its built like a tank. Fit and finish is perfect with no grind marks or blemishes to be found. Even the band is top notch quality. The band makes it's nearest competitors bands look like they came off dollar store watches. Time keeping is spot on the mark and the luminescent material used on the hands make it super easy to read the time at night or in low light conditions. If you like the field watch style, Bertucci is for you...

After purchasing the A1 which I loved but after a few days I just couldn’t get used to the 36mm case. I returned it and got the 40mm A2 watch. This watch for me is perfect! I find it so comfortable I can actually sleep with it on. So if you want a solid field watch that won’t break your bank account you won’t be disappointed with this watch.
