A speedy solution for lightweight cord storage.
I took a chance and bought this reel to use with a Logitech headset. It works. Essentially, it's a spring wound reel with a hook designed to be placed at the center of the cord to be wound. There's a trigger on the hook that releases a catch, allowing the spool to wind up the cord from the middle to both ends. It just takes a little tension on the trigger to release the catch. It's a very convenient way to quickly spool the cord and partially encase it. It's not for heavy power cords or thick A/V cables, but for most lightweight headphones or USB power cords it may be the solution you're seeking.

Worked occasionally
It does not work properly only occasionally. Need to try several times to make it rewind properly.

Good but not for long cords
Work well and keep cords tidy, but I made the mistake of buying these thinking that they would work for a 7 foot cord. They were designed to fit regular sized cords.

This is a very nice keeper. We used it to travel; very robust and takes minimal room. It extends and retracts very easily. Since there are no loose cords, it travels nicely as it does not tangle with anything. Price was also right! I recommend it!

Maybe it will work someday.
No instructions as to how it works. Still in a drawer until I have the time and inclination to figure it out.

Cord retraction
I bought two. One to use for my cell phone cord and one to use for my iPad cord. It is difficult to get cord to stay inside the case while winding it up due to various sizes of my iPad cord end and cell phone cord end. I love the idea but when I try to unwind it to use, I find much resistance to get it out of mechanism. When I get my cords wound up in it they do look much nicer lying around on a table. I’m not sure how to improve its retraction.
