(EDIT: 5/5 Stars. Testing on both my Quest 2 and Quest 3 VIA Link Cable and SteamVR, the trackers work GREAT After the newest updates. I now only have to recalibrate once in a blue moon. The mapping stays consistent every time I turn on the trackers in my play area. It's very helpful to know that when setting up the trackers, you don't have to be in front of your PC. What I did was stand in front of my couch and set it as my home area, so whenever I turned on my trackers I would have to face the couch and let the trackers do it's thing. Whenever I do experience drifting and am unable to fix it with the calibration tab, I just turn off the trackers on vive hub, make sure I stand in front of my couch, turn them back on, then recalibrate them. It sounds like a long process, but should only take you three minutes max! ) A quick disclaimer, I did buy these trackers used, and it does not come with straps, but after having the trackers for a few weeks at this point, I'd say it's fairly good. I was concerned reading the reviews since it talks about lighting issues and how it affects the tracking since my bedroom lights aren't that bright, but after setting them up, the tracking worked well! Following the guide for third party headsets (I used a quest 2) it is recommended that you don't clear out your room completely. The trackers need a point of reference so it can track your movements more accurately, so some furniture is better then completely clearing out your room. The ease of setup is a bit lacking, you'll have to join the VIVE to access the beta, setup the app for the trackers, connect the trackers to the dongle, install a few updates, and then finally pop on your headset and setup the tracking. Personally, I don't know if it's because I bought mine used, sometimes the trackers would either disconnect or drift off into another plane of existence whenever I would recalibrate. Thankfully, it only happens once every blue moon. Overall, I give it a 4/5. I love it, but it could be easier to handle in the future. Would recommend for FBT VR games 👌

Pure Disappointment
Gonna drop as thorough of a review of these as I can, please read this before you buy them! I bought mine to play games like VRChat and have full body tracking, and here's my overall thoughts on them. Tracking: 3.5/5. Pretty standard nothing bad but nothing exceptional. It's good tracking, though it slides around a bit too much sometimes and has occasional lag and stuttering. There's worse out there, but there's certainly better as well. Check other products if the quality of tracking is your main worry. Connection/Syncing: 0/5. The connection between the trackers, their dongle and the VR headset itself (also known as syncing) is...Disappointing, to put it very lightly. It's the most glaring problem the product has, a process that should take 3-5 minutes tops took me 2.5 hours the day I got them, 45 minutes the day after, and then over an hour on the day of this review. I run a Meta Quest 3 and connect it to my high-performance PC via a USB 3.0 cable. Both my PC and my Quest 3 are in tip-top condition and have zero issues, leading me to believe it's just the trackers themselves having this syncing issue. It stutters, it cuts out, it drags, it's inaccurate, and it's promise of "tracking without base stations" is misleading. If you have a lot of base stations, I imagine this problem is negligible or non-existent. Battery: 4/5. Lasts longer than my headset (even when it's charging while I play via my PC!) giving me 5+ hours of life. They charge somewhat slowly, but the battery is quite nice. Software: 1/5. The bottom line is that the HTC Vive software will usually tell you what's wrong, but not why or how it's wrong. The download is a PITA, and setting the trackers up and getting them to sync just to each other is no better. It's minimal, in all the wrong ways. Directions/product installation: 1/5. It doesn't come with physical directions, instead you scan a QR code (how futuristic!) and it takes you to a page that's broken and only tells you a quarter of what you ought to know. As for setting up the tracking, refer to the previous sections of the review. It's difficult, makes you swear enough to make a sailor blush, and in my experience is unrewarding. Accessories/Miscellaneous: Doesn't come with any accessories, which for $600 you think it would. I bought the straps as well as a USB 3.0 hub separately. It also does not come with any of the cords needed to plug it where you need to. It requires you to plug each individual tracker into your PC to do an update before you use the product, and doesn't come with USB-C cables. I was lucky to have a pack of adapters I had bought for a different item. You'll likely be spending another $50 or more the straps, adapters and the hub. Overall: 1/5 due to the disappointing connection, irritating setup, inconsistency, lack of accessories and instructions, constant interrupts and the misleading description of the product. In order to make these work, you REQUIRE compatible base stations. This product costs way more than $600, and if you think you'll only spend $600, read this review again. Either save yourself the disappointment and buy a different product, or if you really don't care about the extra cost, pick up a few HTC Vive base stations as well. I'm sure the trackers work well with those base stations, but standalone they are just utter trash.

My perfect full body tracking setup
They work really well once they're set up, took me about 15 minutes but have been crazy stable for the past 2 days of use with Quest Pro for full body tracking. Software has areas for improvements but the beta has beaten my expectations. If you're reading this and planning on purchasing, the quality of the map scanning was really important in my case, when I went a bit slower and took some more time, it stopped having some of the tracking loss issues I was encountering the first time (and I've seen others encounter). Hope HTC are able to take that feedback and refine their setup behaviour to accommodate for that.

The road is long and difficult but worth it (PLEASE READ IF YOU HAVE ISSUES OR DOUBTS)
So i bought these trackers with the idea of knew everything and thought i was prepared, i wasn't though I'm not disappointed anymore because once you actually make your set up for these trackers it works beautifully. So the issues the cameras need a lot of light as you should already know if you want to make the plunge and buy these things and i thought the light i already has was sufficient, it wasn't and it would lose tracking frequently, also having barren white walls also messes with the tracking. My advice if you have very barren walls just tape colorful posters, pictures, whatever it is to make it less barren and give your trackers points of reference. Next is lighting, Me personally id recommend a floor lamp something like this Sunmory floor lamp to really help out because it did for me. Now that is out the way everything else with these trackers including the setup and connection with the things previous work as advertised, the tracking is Really good and has been a wonderful experience for me tracking wise. Id say its not as worth the money if you aren't ready to have to decorate your room and or buy a lamp that could be 40 dollars after spending 700 on them. Now if you already have a pretty decorated room or just not blank white walls and already have a Bright led lamp then id say it is worth your time and money. One more thing about the set up, be careful of reflective surfaces such as windows or mirrors and the such. And yeah that's it these trackers are so fun and smooth when your setup is right and really is an upgrade from slimes and other imu's of the same the price is a bit pricey but can be worth it with the right set up. I hope this will help at least one person and more if they are having some difficulties settings these up and the such, Have a Great day!

Full-Body Tracking for VRChat on Quest 3, Worth Every Penny!
I’ve been using the HTC Vive Ultimate Tracker 3 Pack with the included dongle for a few weeks now, mainly with my Quest 3 for VRChat, and the experience has been fantastic. Setup was pretty smooth, and the dongle keeps a stable connection with no tracking drops or lag. Full-body tracking in VRChat feels incredibly natural and responsive. Movements sync up well, even during fast-paced sessions, making the whole experience way more immersive. I love that these trackers work so well with Quest 3 through SteamVR—it really opens up new possibilities for social VR. The trackers are lightweight and comfortable to wear on the waist and legs, and the battery life has held up well through multiple sessions. They’re also built solidly, so I feel confident using them regularly. If you want reliable, high-quality full-body tracking on Quest 3 or similar headsets, this 3-pack bundle is definitely worth it. It’s made my VRChat sessions so much more fun and engaging.

Not worth the hassle unless you have a perfect environment.
I really wanted to like these a lot, but the tech just isn't there to make it work. Like many others, I too was looking for a great tracking solution that didn't require base stations. Most other forms of tracking you can get are sketchy and might drift, but this official solution seemed like it might have some promise. Unfortunately, the sheer unreliability makes it not worth your time. They take forever to get into a tracking state from the moment you turn them on, if they do at all. From there, they require calibration, which is also just as finicky, and might not even appear in your playspace correctly. If you're lucky, they'll maybe be a few inches off their real life position. If not, they'll be sunken deep into the floor. When you can finally get them to work and stay connected, they do the job, but if they start losing tracking be prepared to desperately try to restore them to functionality. You're supposed to hold them at chest height according to the program to restore tracking but it never works, or it will just lose it right back when you attach it back on. The trackers require an insanely bright play area to work as well. Maybe it's just my environment but the fiddling is absolutely a deal breaker, impossible to play anything like this. For $599 dollars (plus the cost of straps) they perform more like $100 trackers from a sketchy seller overseas.

Amazing Right Out Of The Box!
I'm thoroughly impressed with the HTC Ultimate trackers! Setup was a breeze with my XR Elite, and I even experimented with PCVR using my HTC Vive Pro Eye headset. Although it took a bit of time to configure with the different headset, the trackers have been working flawlessly with Blade & Sorcery's full-body tracking. The setup process was incredibly smooth, with clear and detailed instructions every step of the way. The ability to use full-body tracking without base stations is truly mind-blowing. In fact, I've abandoned my Vive 3.0 trackers since upgrading to the Ultimate trackers. One of the standout features is the ease of use – I can take them to a friend's house, quickly scan the area, and the inside-out tracking works instantly, no PC required. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the HTC Ultimate trackers! Pros: ·Easy setup with intuitive instructions ·Inside-out tracking eliminates the need for base stations ·No PC required for standalone use, but easily compatible with PCVR for expanded gaming options ·Sleek and beautiful design Cons: ·Initial cost may be prohibitive for some budgets ·(However, note that the cost is offset by the savings from not needing base stations or a PC for standalone use)

Must complete the lengthy configuration process every time I go to use it.
I’ve never been more disappointed in a tech company than I am with HTC. I was fully invested from the original Vive and have since purchased multiple HTC products. Unfortunately, each one has come with its own set of frustrating issues that make them difficult—if not impossible—to use reliably. These trackers are impressive when they work, but that’s the problem: they rarely work without extensive effort. Every time I want to play, I end up having to reconfigure the entire setup, which is anything but simple. They're consistently unreliable, and instead of spending my limited free time enjoying VR, I’m stuck troubleshooting. Just tonight, I spent over an hour trying to get the tracking to work correctly before finally giving up so I could get to bed. That experience pushed me to finally write this review. The wireless setup for my Cosmos Elite was just as problematic. And now, with the new Focus still lacking pancake lenses and Wi-Fi 7, it’s clear HTC isn’t keeping pace with industry standards. By contrast, the Quest 3 works flawlessly every time I use it. I even found a mobile app that provides full-body tracking through the phone’s camera—and it works better than HTC’s dedicated hardware. After spending thousands of dollars and years giving HTC the benefit of the doubt, I’ve been consistently let down. I held on longer than most, but I’ve finally had enough. HTC has lost a loyal customer, and Meta has gained one.

Solid Next Gen Trackers
Purchased these as an upgrade from home built Slime Trackers. Using with a Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop. Solid tracking, have not had any issues with glitching or flinging your character off into space. No drift or weirdness, they seem very good. These are a great solution for anyone who uses a SteamVR compatible headset, and wants full body tracking without having to purchase and setup base stations. Note the trackers do not include any straps, so you will need to purchase those separately. Your computer should also have a USB C type port for full compatibility for the dongle. A few things to remember when using and setting up... 1) These are camera based trackers so if your cameras get blocked by furniture, other people in the room, pets, or cables, then they may lose their way, so it's best to use these when you are the only person in the room, and in an area where things do not get moved around too much. 2) Lighting is important, so if you are used to sitting in the dark while in VR, this won't work for you, bright lighting is required for the cameras to track properly, and is better suited for smaller rooms. If the area is too large there will be no point of reference for the cameras to find. Obviously, try to avoid mirrors, windows or shiny surfaces in the room. 3) Update the firmware before use to the latest version. There have been vast improvements recently, that will make your experience better. 4) Keep in mind these save an image of your play space in your computer to use as a reference. If you move to different rooms or places a lot, than this may not be for you as you will need to setup the trackers all over again every time you use them in a different space. Overall these seem to be a good product, battery life in real world testing is about 5 hours per charge. System will support up to 5 trackers, however 3 is probably sufficient for most people. Note that if you are buying single trackers, they do not include the USB dongle, and they will not work without one.
