Works as advertised, have been turning my trimmers on with the blades submerged, cleans well and has a good smell to it. No leaking when it came in, good value for the money! Recommended

Keeps my blades clean

Echoing all other reviews that I read before getting this... 1. It works as advertised and quickly cleans your blades; basically in a few seconds. The instructions are clear and simple, and all you do is dip your blades in the liquid and turn on your clippers and the hair sloughs away. Done. *Except* - also echoing a lot of reviews -... 2. It's a mess. This liquid is basically made to slide all over any surface, collect particles like hair, and then let them slide out of the machine. It works by having very high viscosity and working like an incredibly slippery lubricant. It slides through your clipper blades and lets gravity pull the hairs out. But this means that if you're handling the bottle at all, the liquid gets all over the outside of the bottle, the lid, your hands, the clipper handles, etc. It's so viscous, the bottle lid when tight doesn't really keep the liquid from coming out; and any residue left on your clippers will also seep out and onto the handle. It really is a mess. Understanding how this works now, I don't think I'd buy this stuff again. This is because I'm a home barber - I mainly use the clippers to trim my own hair and to cut that of my kid. I use my clippers once or twice a month at most. So when I close up the (plastic) container and put it away in my barbering box, I get the stuff on everything, and it swishes out just from moving it into and out of its box. I just can't keep this out in its own spot, ready for its occasional use. I love good tools, and I love things made to keep good tools well maintained, but I've learned the valuable lesson from this stuff that good tools and their maintenance infrastructure still needs proper storage infrastructure, otherwise it won't work together well. Basically, this stuff really only makes sense if you keep it in a single, dedicated spot on an accessible shelf, and you store your clippers hanging down from a hook (where the liquid residue will just drip down, away from the handle). In other words, this stuff is really made for actual commercial barbers - someone using the clippers over and over, all day, every day, week to week. If you have space at home to dedicate to a similar setup, then you won't really need to worry about the mess issue. But if you're planning on storing this away and taking it out, and doing the same with your clippers, then heed this review and know that you will not be able to avoid the mess factor and should keep a lot of towels or tissue on hand. A better alternative for an occasional barber like myself might just be to stick with the Andis blade lubricant, a small brush, and a towel/tissue.

Great product to have

Most hair clippers come with a tiny bottle of lube that is either used up or leaks out everything within a year and then you are on your own. While I do believe this product is more oriented towards someone who is using clippers every day multiple times a day, if you can catch this on sale, it will work wonders. At this point in time, I can get a decent hair clipper with guards and everything for about the price of a single haircut + tip out in town. So that means they kind of become disposable and eventually they get dull or hair builds up in a place I can't clean out and I pitch them and buy new ones. Even if I do that once a year, I'm saving a lot of money (I keep my hair pretty short and would need to head to a barber shop at least once a month). If you are also on that same rotation, using this product will definitely expand the life of your clippers. I can't say for how long as I've only had this a couple weeks, but it sure brought my blades back to life. But as others have cautioned, it is almost too effective. You really need to be careful to not spill because it is NOT easy to clean up. I usually only open it while it is resting at the bottom of my sink, then dip in the blades, turn on the clippers for about ten seconds, then off, then carefully raise out of the fluid and attempt to wipe up the extra with some tissue or toilet paper that I can just toss out.
