Anyhow the total lengeth of this rod, the exhaust one is: 9 inches without counting the tapered ends, so I measured from the score line to score line on the rod, linear. If you include the little ends that are tapred after the score lines it would be a total of 9 and 3/8th inches long/linear. It was installed in my lawn tractor to gap specs, up storke down stoke etc... and worked perfect after replacing of both my intake and exhaust rods on my craftsman riding lawn mower. Also, check both push rods for damage and make sure that they are not bent or broken.
