Works!
My hair is bleached and toned to a silver color. I use Fanola No-Yellow Purple Shampoo for upkeep which works wonders eliminating any/all yellowness. It leaves the lightest shade of lavender which brightens/whitens to a silver. I also have a dark brown shadow root, however it is quickly fading into a lighter warmer brown shade. The purple shampoo is great for the silver parts of my hair, but did absolutely nothing for my brassy roots, of course, because it was more orange than yellow. So I decided to try this shampoo since it was blue and targets eliminating orange. Plus, I needed to give my hair a break from coloring/processing because it did acquire some damage from the bleach... First Attempt: The no-orange shampoo squeezed into my palm first looked more purple than blue, and smelled so different from the no-yellow shampoo (almost like a cologne), so I was a little off-put at first impression. However, once lathered up, the foam was definitely blue, and the strong scent faded away. I applied this in the shower after washing my hair with regular shampoo. I focused it on my roots first then the rest of my hair and lathered thoroughly with my fingers. I wasn't sure how long I should keep it on for, so I rinsed it out only after a minute or two. Unfortunately, after my hair was fully dried I inspected closely only to see little to no difference in my roots. I also noticed it made my bleached parts were less lavender/silver and now more grey/silver. It slightly darkened my silver because of the blue/ash tone, but it was very subtle and I actually didn't mind it. It was more of a true silver now. But my roots were my main concern!!! Second Attempt: I applied with the same method but instead of only keeping it on for a couple minutes, I left it on for 3x longer. I applied generously to my roots and massaged thoroughly and then applied to the rest of my hair. After I was done lathering everything, I left it on for approximately 6-7 minutes, then rinsed. I also deep conditioned right after. This time, upon closer inspection once fully dried, I actually noticed a difference in my roots! Granted, this shampoo is not going to turn orange into blue, but it definitely deposits blue to neutralize brassiness. I went from a brassy light brown to a neutral/ash brown. And since my silver was more of a true silver rather than lavender, it all blended together so much better. I will continue to use this shampoo for the next month or two before my next dark shadow root touch up session!

Gets that orange brass out!
WOW this shampoo is awesome! I moved to a very small town and when I said to the stylist doing my blonde color - "I come up red so don't use bleach " - well she didn't listen and I ended up a lovely shade of Ronald McDonald. Eeeek! O.O Needless to say there was no way I was going to let her fix it and since there were no other salons nearby, I had to figure it out on my own. Opposites on the color wheel will cancel each other out and seeing that I was a horrid shade of orange I knew blue would save me. Now this blue shampoo reads right there in the listing title "Fanola No Orange Shampoo" so I had to give it a try. It is very (very) highly pigmented and that got me excited. While it won't stain your scalp or skin (I didn't experience any skin staining), it may stain finger cuticles so I advise wearing gloves while applying. After washing with a clarifying shampoo first and drying my hair, I left the Fanola Shampoo on for 15 minutes and that dulled the brightness a bit. Subsequently, I did 6 other treatments (on squeaky clean dry hair) over the course of 8 days, leaving the shampoo on for 20 minutes each time, and am happy to say my hair now looks like a pretty strawberry blonde. Whew! This shampoo is a life (and embarrassment) saver!! It is quite drying so you'll need a good conditioner afterwards - I used Cantu Moisturizing Curl Activator Creme and it softened my hair right up. If you've had an orange hair disaster - the Fanola No Orange Shampoo could just be your lifesaver too.

Great for rusty well water on my Blonde hair
I tried this shampoo to save some money. My regular shampoo is up to $32 a bottle! I have well water that turns everything orange, even with a softener. I have ash blond hair with hi/low lights. Purple shampoo does not help with the orange from my water so I tried this blue shampoo and it works much better for the orange hues. I actually alternate with Fanola purple for yellowing from products etc or mix them together. It is more drying than my sulfate free Pureology purple shampoo, but my hair is very healthy so it hasn't damaged it. I do use a quality hydrating conditioner and heat styling products when needed. If my hair is really dirty I wash my hair twice. One quick wash with this or a clarifying shampoo then leave the Fanola on for 2-4 minutes. I find after 4 minutes most of the pigment is gone so no need to leave it on longer. I usually wet my hair, wring out excess water, put about a good quarter size amount of shampoo in my hands and coat my hair with the shampoo and wait a couple minutes, then massage it in a little more and leave for another minute or so. It has never stained my hands and I make sure to rinse it off the walls just in case.

If you're on the fence, read this!
As a licensed professional, I'd like to give people a word of advice... this product will not make your hair brown or magically make your blorange hair look like a picture on instagram! This is a temporary (but effective) way of toning out some light brassiness from your hair after it has already been professionally colored/ lightened or if you're a natural golden blonde. If your hair is a very dark orange like a level 1-6 (even though level 1-4 really never gets orange, if anything it can appear red, but I digress) you most likely need to head to your favorite professional salon for a toner/ glaze. For level 7 and up, this will work great for you! I suggest washing with regular sulfate free shampoo first and then lather lightly on clean hair wherever your orange problem is, clip it up and leave for 5-20 minutes depending on the porosity of you hair and how brassy it is ( i.e. little bit of brass/ high porosity- 5 min / a lot of brass/ low porosity- 20 min). You may need to test it out a few times to see what works best! Also, WEAR GLOVES!!! This stuff is super pigmented and will turn your hands blue. If you end up leaving it on too long or your hair is too ashy or even blue-ish don't worry.. it only lasts a couple of washes. Additionally, I recommend you deep condition your hair afterwards because like most toning shampoos, this stuff is slightly drying. Lastly, for those of you with a yellow/ gold problem more so than an orange problem, try Fanola No Yellow shampoo instead! For my fellow licensed professionals, buying hair products from amazon is usually sacrilegious for me but salonguys.com sells it for so much more and the shipping is so expensive so just to test it out I bought the same product from them and from here. From what I can tell they are practically identical in packaging and yield the same results on my clients. Basically, if this is a knock off it's a pretty damn good one so save your money! Hope this helps, good luck!

Great to do a temporary tone touch up for lightened hair
I love this blue shampoo! I have naturally dark hair and I did just get highlights for the summer. I cannot always go to the salon or have the time to tone my hair at home. On top of that, the smell of any hair dye/toner irritates my nose and causes headaches for me. This was so easy to use and did not cause me any irritation. I put the product in my hair while my hair was dry (I did not wash it prior) and I let it sit for a good 30 min (I do not think that the directions say to leave on for very long, but I know my hair and what it can withstand and had no issues so please use at your own discretion). I lathered it and concentrated it onto the highlighted areas and washed it out in the shower followed by some conditioner. I only use this once a week or once every two weeks as it depends on how warm my highlights start to get. I would recommend to try to wash it out directly into the drain of your shower so that the blue pigment does not leave any blue water stains in your shower, just be mindful of the possibility of that.

Great product, but has issues
This is a great, very potent blue shampoo for orange brassy hair due to bleaching or color treatment. I'm a natural dark brown in the winter to a 7 or 8 blonde in the summer. This past summer I decided to go all the way up to an Ashy blonde with some purple/silver highlights/Lowlights. But because I'm normal a dark brown, I get a lot of brass and orange tones when I bleach my hair. This shampoo does wonders to mute that Orangey Strawberry shortcake look. Although, please be careful. This shampoo will stain you skin and hands albeit temporary. The scent of this shampoo is not great, and almost has a medicinal smell.

HOLY GRAIL
I want to do a mini update: after a few weeks. I went on the brand’s IG, and they did mention using the blue pigment often will darken the highlighted parts. It does darken my natural color by a little bit. Tones it down which looks nice and fresh level 2. I still use this once a week for 10 minutes, and follow with a deep conditioner. Honestly I love the darken levels. It’s not bronze, brassy or orange tone. Winner! AMAZING. this is for the orange shampoo. I have dark black brown, and have baylage ombré which always turns red orange in the beginning stages. I’ve used wella toner and others without help removing the bronze orange tone. 1st go, i lathered and left on total time 15 minutes, washed out and did a small blow dry to see results. See photo. Much better but went in again. 2nd, I washed a full shampoo like I would normally (this time without wearing gloves), and condition. See photos, I tried to get natural light photo. Until I get into the blonde ombré I will use this regularly! Tips- 1-this will dry your hair and scalp! You might want to follow with a super moisturizer for your scalp, because I’m currently very itchy. Also, dries your strands out so you might want to deep condition your hair. 2-WEAR GLOVES, and prepare to wipe off any shampoo that falls on your skin immediately. Or you will need to scrub that area off. also, I didn’t have any exploading shampoo issue. Mine arrived in a box without issue, but I did order the larger size.

Yes!
A lot of the reviews I seen on this shampoo were very good beside the fact that during shipping the product got damaged and made a mess all over the box. I lucked out because mine came in perfect condition, no spills, no messes, no leaks at all! I love this shampoo. I mix the no yellow and the no orange together and get such amazing results. My golden and yellow tones just disappear and I am left with icy ashy platinum hair! I wouldnt say the shampoo is super moisturizing but it didnt make my hair hard or overly dry like some shampoos with sulfates. If it does for you just use a good mask or deeper conditioner after. The price you just cant beat for a liter of a very very pigmented blue shampoo. The smell isnt rhe best but not terrible. I am very very very sensitive to scents and this one is a little bothersome at first but it doesnt stick around at all. Smells kind of manly, like citrusy or cologne. Once rinsed out though I dont detect a smell at all. Since I mainly mix no orange shampoo with no yellow shampoo once you do everything just smells like the no yellow(to me smells like grape candy with flowers) . Anyway I love this shampoo, I love everything I have tried from Fanola so far and cant wait to try out more!

Holy Fanola!
Bit of back story- I have used henna for about 12 years over what was once strawberry blonde hair. I'm now an ash blonde with a scattering of white hairs and I was ready to try and grow out natural, before I grey more and it gets harder. First off, I started gradually lightening the bulk of the darker, almost maroon hair with spray in lightener (go super careful with this). I would spritz damp hair with it, wrap in a plastic cap and leave for a couple of hours before rinsing and conditioning. I did this once a week for around four weeks. I also did a couple of VERY STRONG citric acid rinses in between. Eventually, I felt I couldn't strip the colour any more without incurring severe damage, so I decided it was time to tone. I was left with ashy roots, followed by a yellowish band, followed by the orange (the majority of the bum-length hair). Firstly I washed my hair with shampoo, towel dried and then slathered on the Fanola, foaming it through. I left it on for 20 mins and rinsed. I could see the flaming orange had subsided, but not enough. I dried my hair completely, and then applied fanola again. This time I DID NOT lather, but painted it on thick, as though it were hair dye. I left this on for another 20 mins before rinsing and using a very, very heavy deep conditioner. The end result is very good and I am amazed. It has blended my multiple bands of colours beautifully. Caution- this stuff is pretty drying. I've damp-oiled my hair, slathered on leave in conditioner and braided it all up. I'll leave this hairstyle in for at least a week to give the hair a rest. I'm thinking that this stuff does a little more than just depositing a blue pigment; I suspect it also strips some colour, much like a clarifying shampoo or citric acid.

Works well
Description says violet but it is blue pigment as the picture. It works gradually, and stronger when you put it on your dry hair and let it sit for 10 mins like the others suggested. Do it for a few times. Eventually my hair turned light brown, golden blonde. I bleached my hair and it had turned orange.
