Maybe that seems over the top, but some reviews mentioned pages upside down, missing, or written on and I didn't want to risk finding something like that months later. It didn't take much time and it was worth it for the peace of mind, but I want to report there were NO issues with the book set I received. The 2 larger books, New Testament and Prophets, the pages stick a bit at the spiral so you need to carefully turn each one. Once you do this they are "unstuck" and it's smooth to turn pages thereafter. This is the best price you'll find online for this set! (I know it fluctuates; was $93 when I purchased.) I love the minimalist design where each book is a different earth tone... I don't usually write reviews here, but I had to start for this one! I'm really happy with my purchase!
