Rock solid enclosure and easy assembly. Came with all the screws and tool needed. Came with both usb-a and usb-c cables. The unit works as advertised flawlessly. The aluminum enclosure helps dissipate what little heat the ssd generates. I have had fantastic read/write transfer rates with a MacBook 12" and XPS 9365. I don't know if that was due to the SanDisk 900GB drive or the controller in the drive enclosure. In any event, it's the fastest external speed I have ever seen and I have seen plenty over time. I have about 20 external drives. The one thing I don't like about the enclosure is that it is on the bulky side. It easily weighs 3x to 4x what the ssd weighs and it is industrial looking. You can view this is an advantage if you want a strong enclosure. Just make sure you don't drop it on your foot because it will hurt. The cable could be a tad longer as well to give some flexibility, but at least the shortness of it helps keep it away from dangling too close to your feet.

I like Vantec products and this is no exception. Great package. Nice enclosure--aluminum with good venting. Easy to install. Came with ALL the extras you should expect: two cables (USB C and USB A, instructions, rubber feet for adjusting fit, screws and screwdriver, thin carrying case, and well packaged. So far, works well and is quite fast using USB 3.1 port.

I like the product itself but amazon held it for over a week even though their handling time is 2 days, and when they finally got around to shipped it it was a day late when it could have been a few days early. Other than that the product is great, the cables are high quality and the included screwdriver was very convenient.

I bought a 3rd one of these the other day but when I got it I just couldn't get it to "turn on" the way my other two did. I use them with an OCW thunderbolt dock and an M1 Mac mini in raid 0. When I reported that the new one I received didn't work, they sent me a replacement immediately. It works fine. I have older 1 TB SSDs that even if they were plugged directly into a motherboard would only get 500MB read writes anyway, so these enclosures work great for that. Plus they are very sturdy metal. I appreciated the customer service.

I really wanted to like this case, but it has issues. The screws that hold the bottom of the case are too small, they do not grab the case. The only thing holding the drive in is that the screws can not slide past the holes. This makes the drive rattle in the enclosure. I also could not get the included usb-c to usb-c cable to work with either my Mac Mini or my Dell Laptop. The USB-C to standard usb cables does work, but I purchased this for a fast SSD, and without the USB-C cable its just another external USB enclosure.

No power adapter included, and no information pertaining to output other than voltage (amps, watts, pin size etc.). Moreover, the unit itself has no indication pertaining to pin depth. Seems really shallow on the unit, and much more than anything I've encountered in the past. Works well enough otherwise, and lives up to expected speeds using both MLC and TLC based solid-state drives. HDDs would likely run quite cool due to solid construction and ventilation.

This fit a Samsung 860 EVO SSD quite well but not a Seagate 2.5” HDD which got stuck on insertion so I have returned it. Other than that, the construction looks rather cheap given the price point. Also, the enclosure also has no pads or feet.

Came on time, first of all. A very nice unit that is easy to assemble and it worked perfectly the first time I tried it. It came with two cables (USC-C>A, USB-C>C) and a little slip cover. I didn't expect all of that, so it was nice of them to include the cover and extra cable. Solid construction, appropriate heat sink. Pretty good value. I'd buy another...

Housing a Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 6 Gbps 2.5" SSD with stated 560 MB/s read and 510 MB/s write; using the NexStar GX (NST-271C31-BK) enclosure the disk speed test (5 GB file) achieved 527 MB/s read and 475 MB/s write. The USB 3.0 enclosure that I was using prior to the NST-271C31-BK achieved around 400 MB/s max. for read and write. Very happy with it ;)

ｍSATA 2枚でRAID1を構成する変換カードを介して使う予定で、放熱のよさそうな本機器を購入しました。 残念ながら作動しませんでした。 一般的な使い方ではありませんので、返品はしないで保管中ですが、無駄使いでした。 昨年購入したプラスチック製のもっと安価な、UGREEN 2.5インチ HDD ケース 製品型番 70499、ASIN B07Y9BLTBPでは問題なくRAID1動作が出来ますので、そちらで放熱シートを張りまくって使っています。 メーカーからの自主的なリコールとして、全額返金・回収の依頼が来るのを待ちますが、無駄でしょうね？

Vantec appears to have upped their game, this case is pretty good! Solid aluminum construction, the use of plastic and glue are long gone, and now it has some open space space to allow for ventilation! The on/off switch is becoming something of a rarity in 2.5" enclosures, but this one has one AND a USB-C connection! A little annoyed that the rubber legs cover the access screws for the case, so I can't really install them. This is one of the better-made enclosures I own, and one of the more expensive ones. If you need a solid enclosure to permanently install a harddrive in, this is a good choice.

Me gusto mucho el case, lo estoy utilizando con un SSD adata en una iMac con usb 3.1 (thunderbolt 3) y funciona de maravilla, las velocidades de transferencia ascienden a los 500 mb/s reales. Lo único malo es que el conector del case está un poco flojo entonces cualquier movimiento puede desconectarlo fácilmente. Recomendado para una estación de trabajo de escritorio.

This hard drive case was very easy to assemble and worked immediately. The design is nice and the materials used of high quality. I have no reservations in recommending it.
