Cricut Joy Xtra | Smart Cutting Machine Starter Bundle | 2024 Edition

Handy little machine that packs a punch, for the size this is quite heavy. You need to have the app to use this but the app is free or you can subscribe for even more designs. I've used it a couple of times and the cut is great. I have a scanncut but don't always want to clear space to get it out, I used the cricut on little table that fits on my knee.

Loving it.. It takes time and a lot of patience

I love my Cricut, and it's simple enough to use once you know what you're doing. This is a really nice size too—not too big, not too small—as I use it for a range of things such as custom book covers, bookmarks, etc. However, it does disconnect from the app quite a lot, and I think that’s more the app’s fault than the Cricut itself, but it definitely bugs me when it signs me out, disconnects, and restarts my design fairly frequently. But it cuts well, I just sort of wish I’d looked at maybe getting a second-hand one instead.

I have a love hate relationship with this thing! I love it, when it works as it should! But my word does it do my nut in when it doesn’t. When it works, it’s brilliant, but the sensors are so temperamental. I’ve had days where I just want to dash it out the window. I guess when it does work, it’s a pleasant surprise. It’s like a mystery box, who knows what you’re going to get when you get ready to use it. Great size, sturdy, love what it’s capable of, easy to use… but the sensors, mainly bottom 2 corners are enough to make me hate it 50% of the time! I think what’s most frustrating is when you actually need it to work and the sensors just won’t read. Nothing will be different to the last time you used it, but as Vicky Pollard says, computer says no. I am not a fan of design space! Awful software, so slow too… I might shop around other brands when I’m back on the market for a new one

1, I never received everything in the bundle, some items are missing. 2, The box was damaged on arrival. 3, The machine when rolling in the mat, for some bizarre reason scrunches the mat up, so even after a couple of uses the mat is badly warped, even though I'm putting it in the machine correctly. 4, Cricut design space offers you very limited things, like a couple of Fonts, a couple of patterns, images, even the 'make a sticker option' isn't free? You have to pay to be able to use sticker paper/Vinyl using the sticker option? 5, When using the option print to cut, if you don't line the paper/cardstock up 100% on the mat it will cut the images wrong. I've tried so many times lining it up perfectly for it still to off cut the images. 6, You can't use the pen to write a sentiment and then cut out a backing for it, as it doesn't cut it out properly, even though on the screen everything is centralised. The machine has been calibrated, it's just not fit for purpose. A lot of money for what it is, and the mere fact you have to pay more to use simple functions that should be free is totally wrong in my opinion. I don't recommend this machine at all.

Love using it for cutting projects , only issue is with the mat, hardly a smooth upload.

This would not connect through Bluetooth. I have no idea why, I tried three different devices and it kept dropping out after about 3 seconds. I followed the Troubleshooting steps to no avail. Note - I was using Android devices which state on their website that they specifically are compatable. Cricut customer support were not helpful, so I opted to return the item. However, the printer does look an excellent piece of kit should it be functioning correctly. There are plenty of bits and pieces included in the box to get started. I hope you have more success than I did! I would opt to buy this printer again in case mine was faulty.
