Is there any way to adjust the tension of the mechanism? have two monitors ~30 lbs. Depressing the levers cause the top to come crashing down.

I dont feel you would need the tension any different. I have two monitors and I can adjust it any height and it stays put. I have the monitors, drink, junk, zero client computer box and it is still good!

Is there anything along the rear edge that would interfere with the clamp for my dual monitor stand?

There is nothing physically right next to the edge that would interfere, but we would recommend that you use the grommet hole to attach the monitor arm. The larger Deluxe version DADR offers a thicker top and heavier gas shocks and will more easily handle the weight of the monitor arm and two monitors, if you want to consider that unit.

What are the dimensions of the base on the 32" Height Adjustable specific model?

looks like they give 20" deep on the image, but no length. Given the 32" length from side to side, I would probably guess about 26-28" length of the base from left to right.
