rOtring Isograph Junior Set 3x Technical Pens | 0.20mm0.30mm0.50mm Fineliner Pens + Accessories

I’ve been getting back into drawing recently and have mostly been using fine liner pens. After coming across these Rotring Isograph technical pens, I was reminded of the pens I used at school in the early 1970s for technical drawing and art. I decided to buy this set, purely out of nostalgia - and I’m very glad I did. These are proper technical pens, and you can feel the difference immediately. The ink flow is consistent, the lines are incredibly precise, and the whole experience is far more controlled than using standard fineliners. It genuinely feels like a professional drawing tool. Despite being a modern version, they still capture everything I remember about the originals. Solid, reliable, and beautifully engineered. What I didn’t expect is how much they would encourage me to draw more. There’s something about using a well-made instrument like this that makes you want to slow down and do things properly. If you’re into ink sketching, illustration, or just want to move beyond disposable pens, this set is well worth it. A classic tool that still earns its place today.

Good starter set for a junior

I have used these pens before so I knew these were a good, quality product. However, the ink cartridges supplied, don't appear to fit this type of pen. I have had to order a suitable Roting bottle of ink that I know is for these pens.

These pens cost a lot and give an amazing line but there are two significant down sides: They have made changing cartridges and over engineered chore but the main drawback is if you don't use them regularly they are prone to blocking. YouTubers say just soak them but in my experience I have wasted hours trying to get one of these blocked pens to work. Even when they aren't blocked you have to shake them and scribble on a bit of paper to get the ink flowing again every time you change and the cartridges are so opaque that it is hard to see if they are empty or not. If you are a regular user you should be ok, but if you put them away for any length of time prepare to lose the pen like I have. After three or four attempts and long soaks I just couldn't get my 0.5 one to work again and binned it.

It's brand new right? But the packaging seems like it been bashed around. On opening the delivery brown paper bag, I found the rotoring package was open as pictured. The inside plastic casing is squashed. The pens seem to be ok. Lucky its a gift to me and not for my best!

Ik heb een teruggestuurd product gekocht,helaas begrijp ik waarom het teruggestuurd is ,de inktpatronen zijn moeilijk in de pennen aan te brengen ,maar het is mij gelukt .nu ben ik aan het tekenen (zie foto )en na even getekend te hebben gaat de pen al haperen .ik probeer een andere waar ik ook een patroon in heb gedaan ,hij werkte toen ik hem probeerde gisteren en nu doet hij niets meer ! Wat kan ik doen ?
