I really liked the adjustability of the hook so that the door fits snug and does not rattle in the wind. My only advice is to be careful with the screws. I am used to working with stainless steel screws and was surprised with how soft and brittle (cheap) these screws are in comparison. The head can strip easily and I even snapped the first one off because I did not have the torque set correctly on my driver. My bad.

Don’t waste your money! Poor quality gate latch. Lock swivel broke before even installed the latch! Also, one of the adjustable bolt ends would not thread onto the provided nut nor into the center of the latch because it was so poorly cut that the threads couldn’t accept anything. Had to recut the end of the bolt it myself then file it to work properly. The entire latch is not overly strong & will bend if much force is put on gate.

The adjustability made this a perfect fit for my gate. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the soft metal screws. The heads spun right off and I had to replace with wood screws.

And though i didn't use it, it would have served well the purpose for which it was intended. However, a couple cheap pieces of plastic sufficed in their stead. What am i talking about? I bought this clasp to keep the door ajar so that the cat and not the dog can get into my bedroom. I also bought a couple plastic cat/door ajar thingies that worked fine. I'll keep this anyway, bucuz there'll be a use for it down the line. Always is. It is a pretty device, decoratively speaking, but also quite sturdy looking and much more that a match for a determined dog or two. I may use it to keep a barn door closed. I like the little tee that acts as a keeper for the hook. Nice feature! If you need an adjustable hook/eye device for keeping your door ajar at a precise kitty width, then this is your device! Or buy a couple inexpensive springy plastic door latchy things. Thazzit.

nice quality and fit perfectly on our shed door

I love this latch. Completely takes the guess work out of measuring. Also great for outdoor use when wood expands and contracts with the weather! Easy to adjust and the metal is thick and strong. The locking mechanism is secure and built well. I’d buy it again for the price.
