Great Lens!
This is a great portrait lens. It IS manual focus - so great for beginners to learn and great little lens for pro’s to use. It’s just a great lens - works as described. Blurs the background. Don’t leave a bad review cause you wanted it to auto focus - it won’t do that. It’s manual and works great!

Good value for the price!
Very good aftermarket prime lens. Sharp and build quality is acceptable.

Used and damaged
Maybe I read something incorrectly, but I was not expecting a used product. Upon opening the package, the canon box itself was ripped open, the lens caps were not secure allowing dust to get everywhere on the lens itself, and the base is all scratched up and has a decent amount of wear & tear. I intentionally tried to stay as far away from used & refurbished for this purchase, so I’m very bummed out. I understand this was a budget friendly price, but the product description is very misleading.

Great for beginners
I got this for my son who is new to photography and he says it works great. He is very happy with it.

This lens cost me £66 what's not to like. Great lens great value. It's totally manual so you have to know how to use it.

Nice and sturdy, well machined, rings are nice n tight but turns as needed. Nice and cold to the touch metal part. The aperture ring has painted on stops. I think the figures should have been engraved on because they might rub away over time. Other than that one thing I love it. Update about 2months ago around may 2025 there about not long after buying the lense the aperture ring broke. I took it out the bag to use it and realized it’s broken. I treat my gear delicately so it wasn’t me I can guarantee that. Like I suspected the f stop digits are fading faster than I thought. I still like it. Just disappointed in the quality of the plastic rings. I got myself an official rf 50mm lens with AF so I don’t need to be messing with adjustments when shooting life subjects . I’ll use this for architectural or landscape shoots.

I am no expert and I'm still learning how to use fully manual lenses but I have found this lens one of the easier ones to use and I've had good results taking portraits using it, I would advise people to use a good tripod and at least a two second delay on the camera to avoid any shake, it's definitely worth the money and I'm looking forward to getting out and about with it now spring has arrived.
