Effortlessly Shares Key Peripherals, But Mind the Power Needs
Effortlessly Shares Key Peripherals, But Mind the Power Needs Setting up this BENFEI USB switch was a breeze. I needed a way to share my keyboard, mouse, and a flash drive between my personal desktop and my work laptop, and this little unit has solved that problem perfectly. The plug-and-play setup worked instantly on both my Windows 10 PC and my MacBook—no drivers to hunt down, which is always a major plus. The physical switch button is responsive, and the LED lights make it crystal clear which computer is currently active. Switching between them is nearly instantaneous for standard input devices, keeping my workflow smooth. I really like the build quality; it feels sturdy and not cheaply made. The included cables are a nice touch and have proven to be reliable. For my core use case of sharing a keyboard and mouse, this device performs flawlessly and has completely eliminated the need to constantly plug and unplug cables from my laptop. However, it's important to keep in mind its limitations with high-power devices. As noted in the manual, the unit includes a micro-USB power port for a reason. When I tried to connect a bus-powered external hard drive, it was not recognized until I connected the provided power cable to a wall adapter. Even then, performance with power-hungry devices can be inconsistent. This isn't a dealbreaker, but it's a crucial consideration. This switch is ideal for low to medium-power peripherals like input devices, card readers, or webcams, but may struggle with portable hard drives without supplemental power. Bottom Line: This is a fantastic and affordable solution for anyone looking to share a keyboard, mouse, and other low-power USB devices between two computers. It's reliable, easy to use, and works seamlessly across different operating systems. Just be sure to use the included power cable if you plan to connect anything more demanding than basic peripherals. For its intended purpose, it’s a great value.

Solved my problem!
I needed a way to connect two old monitors to two desktop PCs while sharing a single wired mouse and keyboard, and this did the trick! I still have to manually change the monitor inputs (clicking a couple buttons on the screens - no big deal), but this has been working well and I saved some money by not needing to buy a big hub. Easy to hook up, though a little bulky once you have all the cables in. But that is to be expected, and you can use the little sticky pads to affix it under your desk or shelf to keep everything out of the way but still accessible.

Just what I needed
Worked well with expected speeds. Good quality feel. Connected right up, leds aren't too bright, fits a minimalistic workspace.

Nice to have!
Works as intended. No issues so far Long version: I have two PCs at the same desk, but didn't want to get two sets of keyboards and mouse. I tried to use the PowerToys app, and it sort of worked for a while. I was able to move my mouse across each and it did a pretty good job of staying active. Pretty much like having two screens on the same computer, but different PCs. Then the app would update on one and not the other, they wouldn't be synced, it it just flat out decided to not connect. So I bought this handy gadget. I just need the mouse/keyboard for both, so this had the right number of USB ports. I definitely like the easy push button to switch. Although not as handy as the PowerToys app, it's much more reliable. I saw some others that had a separate piece that comes out to push the button to switch. That's the only thing I would add to this, it overall it's pretty good. Compatibility is great. Switching speed is great.

Great for Work and Home
I use this to alternate between my work laptop and my desktop PC. Works great! Even works with a USB hub attached for more ports surprisingly!

Zero stars! Not recommended. Mouse does not work when attached with other devices.
I have a wired keyboard and mouse attached. Upon powerup or switching, both mouse and keyboard appear to start (their LEDs turn on). After they are initialized in 2~3 seconds, the mouse only works 20% of the time. When the mouse does work, it works perfectly. If the keyboard is unplugged or in a separate port on a computer, the mouse works fine through the switch; but I need them both to be switched. Symptoms: The mouse jumps as if all the USB data packets for movement from the previous 2-3 seconds are received at once. Packets are definitely getting lost and/or corrupted because mouse button-up/-down/-click are often completely lost. Testing: Symptoms are the same for both computers (8 yo Win10 laptop and brand new Win11 minipc) and it happens on all ports (3.0 and 2.1) on both computers. It doesn't matter if external power is supplied to the switch or not. My keyboard and mouse are both USB 2 devices using Generic USB drivers from Microsoft. I also tested with my Logitech gaming mouse. It experiences the same symptoms with its specific driver. Details: Windows reports the switch as a USB2.1 Hub using Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub and Generic USB Hub drivers. I find that strange as SuperSpeed only exists on USB 3+ (blue plastic inside the ports vs. black). Per my understanding, it should be listed as a USB3.0 Hub which is backward compatible to USB 1. Interestingly, the Surface uses the same USB controller chip (VID=05E3, PID=0610), but those drivers don't work at all on my Win11 PC. Conclusion: I suspect it is a timing problem during initialization causing USB 3.0/2.1 confusion in the cheap controller chip Benfei uses. Or, it could very well have a buggy keylogger reporting everything one types back to the CCP. Benfei does not offer support, firmware or drivers for it, so we won't know until I HACK IT!

Keyboard mouse and Xbox controller work perfectly with no power supply
I have this plugged into a laptop USB c hub and my desktop. Switches instantly and when I'm gaming on my desktop or my laptop no lag or any other disconnects or any other problems with anything. Switching button is easy to press, device light clear this hub is a wonderful value. I have connected a mechanical wired lighted RGB keyboard, an rgb mouse, an Xbox one wired controller normally connected to it. Little flash drive also works well also when hub unpowered for short transfers. So that's all four ports in use at once unpowered not bad. I'm sure if I connected a hard drive or something to it I would need to use the power supply but that would not be a great idea if you switched while transferring files. I see no negatives at this low price.

Great price does what it should with no hassle
I purchased this KVM to reduce monitor, keyboard foot print at my work station. It is quite small and light, the cost is super reasonable so I had my doubts, however after 3 minutes to connect it worked immediately. It even has a wired remote control switch that I love, It takes up almost no space and the device can be tucked away anywhere your cables reach. The only slight draw-back is there is about a 3 second delay when switching. I highly recommend this product to anyone on a budget and has the need.

Just what I needed
Lightweight but strong, stable plastic build. I like that the cables are long enough and still perform well. Only complaint is that the button is recessed, rather than sticking out, so it takes some getting used to, especially if you mount it under your desk like I have. Using it primarily for my audio interface, USB eLicenser and mouse and keyboard for seamless switching between my Windows PC and MacBook. Transfer speeds are acceptable when connected to external drives. TAKE NOTE: This device doesn't send enough power for SSDs and portable HDDs to work. Those need to be directly connected to the computer - but self-powered external drives work well with relatively comparable speeds to direct connection. In all, good device, for what I paid for it, best deal out there

Works Seamlessly – Ideal for Dual PC Setups
This USB 3.0 switch has been a total game-changer for my home office. I use two computers for work and personal use, and being able to share my keyboard, mouse, and printer between them with just the press of a button is incredibly convenient. Setup was plug-and-play—no drivers needed, and it worked straight away on both Windows machines. The switching is instant, and I’ve had no issues with connectivity or performance. All the USB 3.0 ports deliver fast transfer speeds, perfect for external drives or scanners too. The build quality is solid, and the indicator lights make it easy to see which computer is active. It’s compact enough to sit neatly on the desk without adding clutter. If you’re running a dual PC setup and want to streamline your workspace, this is a brilliant bit of kit. Reliable, fast, and fantastic value—highly recommended.

Perfect use case
Works as described. Simplified my set up was having trouble getting compatible KVM so just used this instead. Real issue was wanting to share keyboard and mouse. Monitors already supported multiple input.
