I’ve been using this primer for a few years now, and it’s honestly blown everything I’ve ever used out of the water. The quality is superior, and it works just as described, so I believe that justifies the high price tag. It helps reduce redness, prevent oiliness, smooth any texture, and blur my pores. Although it doesn’t completely blur all of my pores, I’d say it covers at least 95% of them. It looks like I have an Instagram filter over my face, which gives the appearance of porcelain skin (hence the Geisha inspiration). I’ve never experienced any cracking, creasing, fading, or smudging. Even after 12+ hours of wear, my makeup remains fresh. Even when it’s a super hot day and I’m sweating, my makeup doesn’t budge. Even when it was pouring buckets outside, my makeup stayed put. This stuff is truly amazing. As for the application, it’s extremely quick and easy. The small spatula it comes with to remove the product is genius. On first contact, this appears to have a slightly thicker consistency than your average primer, but it melts into your skin instantly. I love the silky feel it gives; it adds to the luxury of this primer. I personally use a little more product than the recommended amount, and I like to wait a few minutes before applying my makeup. As for the scent, it’s faint and doesn’t linger. For reference on my skin type, I have dry/normal skin. In terms of the authenticity of ordering this primer on Amazon, I can say with certainty that it’s legit. Tatcha is the seller, so it’s no different than purchasing it from their official brand website or Sephora. The only difference is that you receive it much sooner, and if the timing is right, you can purchase it at a much lower price. I’m currently running low on my Tatcha silk canvas primer, so I bought one on Prime Day for $37 bucks! That’s a $17 dollar difference (talk about a saving!). The packaging came in typical Tatcha fashion. The primer came in a vacuum-sealed bag and was placed in a little drawer-like box with a small disc-shaped spatula. The primer itself came in flawless condition, as it should. The outside packaging looked a tiny bit dingy, but that didn’t bother me. As long as the actual product is intact, that’s all that matters.

I purchased this after seeing it highlighted on a morning news program and am absolutely delighted! It comes in a solid-ish form in an elegant disc shaped container. When you first run your fingers over it it feels like silk. I comes with a small disc to aid in removing product to apply. It goes on smoothly and a little goes a VERY long way, meaning the cost of it is offset by the large number of uses you'll get from a single container. I've used it with both liquid and cream foundations, with equally satisfying results. My makeup goes on smoothly, fine lines are blurred, and pores disappear. It also makes your make stay in place, meaning you look as great when you get home from work as you did when you left. I can't say enough good things about it! Go ahead and splurge--you'll be glad you did!

Tatcha does offer a version specifically for oily skin, which I probably should have got. However, I picked this up on Prime Day and didn’t want to miss the deal, so I decided to try it anyway. To my surprise, it worked completely fine for my oily skin. The texture is silky smooth, and once applied, my skin feels velvety while helping to blur pores and fine lines. That said, it’s quite pricey for what it does, as it performs similarly to other primers on the market. I also wasn’t a fan of the packaging—the screw-top compact requires two hands to open, and the small circular tool used to scoop out the product doesn’t have a designated holder, so you’re left needing to place it somewhere. For these reasons, I took off one star.

I never buy anything other than this primer. Goes on smooth and keeps makeup in place all day

Expected more from Tatcha. Product smells good and it’s really soft on skin but so hard to apply-massage is not good. Must tap into face but takes so much longer time and your hands and fingers would get tired. Should not be this hard to apply.

I have been using Tatcha for many years in Canada , from when you had to order from their website where all products are made in Japan and shipped via USA and had to pay exchange rates and customs....but the quality, care and results kept me hooked. I am thrilled I can now purchase from their website in Canadian dollars or from Amazon! I have very sensitive skin and these are the only products that don't irritate because it's natural and gentle, but the results are absolutely amazing. The products last longer than commercial brands as a little does go a long way. I also appreciate Tatcha uses part of their sales to support young girls in a poor country to receive an education and a chance of a future. I am definitely a Tatcha girl, and hope other women appreciate the brand.

This is my favourite primer. Yes it's on the pricey side but its worth every penny; being able to order it on Amazon is brilliant. I ordered it quite late earlier today selecting delivery by 10pm. It was dispatched and delivered to my house before 7pm. Excellent service, thank you.
