We only needed a bottom sheet as the bottom sheet (from a different maker) developed a whole in it after several years and the top sheet is still good. We will only sleep in linen as we feel it is a superior material. These are quality sheets, well made and fit our mattress well. We are not finding it slips around as others have stated. I have a very thick mattress with a pillow top attached and a additional feather bed on top of that. I have not once had an issue with the sheets not fitting or popping off. They stay in place, which is always an issue I have with sheets. I have already washed these 3 times and I can guarantee you they get softer and softer each time. When you first take the sheets out of the packaging they are VERY scratchy, but after you wash them they instantly get softer (and softer and softer the more you wash) I have a very large dog that loves to run and jump on and off my bed and I have had no issues with holes or pilling. I am so pleased with these sheets and will be buying another pair.
