You can plug in your 45w, 60w or whatever your laptop uses to this, plus you get 2 extra USB 3 ports. It will also work as a straight USB C to 2-port USB 3 hub if you don’t need to use the power pass-thru, but if that’s all you need there are cheaper hub solutions. But this is a very nifty device. **Q: Does this allow for dual extended monitors (1 hdmi, 1 vga)?** A: YES. Windows (enterprise) Dell Latitude laptop, 1st monitor vga, extended display second monitor HDMI. LAN cable and USB keyboard connected. all 4 ports worked as expected.
