Great home automation devices!
Love the Switchbot blind openers. We have 4 blinds in our bedroom and would manually open them daily. Now I have them on a schedule to open and close daily. Never even think about them anymore. They just work.

Easy, Well-Made, Great Usability
So far so great! It seems to be working exactly as described. I’m impressed with the amount of detail and thought that went into these. The calibration. The install video. The supplies. Once you get one done, the rest will be easy! This works great with Alexa.

Apple Home... meh
These open the blinds as they are supposed to, for the most part. They are automatically set up to open the blinds at a horizontal level or 100% open, but a lot of times, they come out to 80%—90% when I open them with the HomeKit app. Then, I have to go into the Switchbot app to finish opening them completely. I am sure this problem is mostly due to HomeKit's overall pathetic performance as a smart home control system. However, I had to buy the Switchbot Hub with these because the blind openers did not have compatibility by themselves. This is annoying because I have absolutely no use for the hub other than to connect to my Apple HomeKit, and it must be on for them to work; so, I always have a temperature and humidity reading beside me that I don't care for.

Works well, decent battery life, and integrates well with Alexa
I purchased six (6) of these to go on three sets of double windows. Installation is straightforward, assuming you can follow instructions. And obviously installing six of them means you're getting better at it as you go. I use these with my Echo devices to control both by voice and by routines. I have a nightly routine to close them. Switchbot offers a way to group each set (that is "beta") but I haven't had any issues with them. This allows you to control them as a group (close Living Room Blinds, for example). You would also be able to do this by grouping them in the Alexa App. I've had the oldest set in use for about 6 months and I've only had to recharge it once. I do use the solar panel, but the windows these are in use on are in a partly shaded area. I've found it easier to use a USB power-pack to charge these rather than trying to disconnect the Switchbot and charge it.

Excellent. Easy install. Follow the instructions and it will be done in about 10 minutes
So easy. Only thing that I had to use a tool for was to shorten the wooden valances after installation. Highly recommended if you want to automate your room and have daylight come in without having to twist a bunch of rods that are just out of reach behind some furniture.

Buy!
These devices are a game changer. Having full automation for every blind in my home has completely transformed daily routines. It integrates flawlessly with Apple HomeKit, Home Assistant, Alexa, and more, giving seamless, reliable control from any platform. Highly recommend for smart homes.

Failed after 4 months
Hub stopped connecting with matter after 4 months. I have done everything abd spent hours trying to reconnect to HomeKit. I hav found that this is a known issue. I’m hoping Switchbot does the right thing and replaces the hub. I’ll update when I hear back.

Room for improvement
It was fairly easy to install, looks sleek, and technically works well. My issues are with the solar panel, the Matter integration, and connection range. 1. The solar panel is useless. It doesn’t charge unless in a south facing window. 2. Matter integration requires a SwitchBot hub (extra cost) and is buggy. Despite running the latest firmware, it took a few attempts to get everything in Apple Home. The resulting connection is slow (takes a few seconds for SwitchBot to respond) and the status often gets stuck, showing the blinds “Opening…” (See image) 3. The Bluetooth connection range between the blinds and the hub is too limited. The hub in my home wasn’t able to maintain a connection with the blinds in my garage. Note: I have other non-SwitchBot accessories using Matter in my garage that work fine. However, SwitchBot needed a second hub inside the garage to work. Overall, I think I’ll keep these, but definitely not my favorite HomeKit / Matter accessory in my home.
