Okay, the photographic illustrations of his own home will appal minimalists and I think the Heath Robinson drawings are not entirely tongue-in-cheek. He wastes not a square centimetre of storage space, giving testament to his talent to 'think outside the box'. However these days those of us with an i-pod and Kindle won't need to store hundreds of books or LP records as does the author. I see this little book as a compact living design bible, to be referred to over and over again, and it occupies less than a centimetre on my over-the-sofa-bed shelf.
