I used two of these on both of my 1200 lights to separate the background and highlight the edges of my subject. Before having the softbox diffuser, I had poor light control, and the light would light the background, even with the barn doors. Also, a sharper shadow was noticed. I like how this has elevated my production. I also use a 1/8 mist and a polariser filter in the Matt Box. The unit was quick to set up and came with a nice pack to put everything back into. It's not a squeeze, so I'm happy with the product.

NEEWER is never cheap as its products is never cheaply made. Nevertheless, it is worth the money, or |i call investment as you pay what you get and NEEWER mostly offer great value for money. The diffuser, namely, is to produce diffusing light. It does the job in a great way in that it produces soft and lovely lighting. Easy to use and easy to set up.

This soft box diffuser produces a beautifully even light and the fabric grille makes it directional so that it doesn't spill out sideways and interfere with the lighting of other objects in your shot. The box itself consists of four trapezia with the stippled metallic surfaces on the inside so that light is reflected around but not absorbed. These are held in place with Velcro and straps which do a good job of keeping its shape. The cloth that covers it and the white material that diffuses the light are made from rip-stop material where every tenth or so thread, a thicker thread is used so that tears are not propagated. The flimsiest part is the grille which stretches into place and grips the Velcro of the white diffuser. The Velcro has a tendency to pull threads from the grille as well as anything else that might be around such as your clothing. You can see from the photograph of the Klein bottle how evenly the lighting is and you can also see what the specular highlights look like. On the whole, this is a very useful soft box but the use of Velcro means that unless you have it set up and then left, it will have a finite lifetime as the Velcro gradually pulls it apart.

The intention is good.. to create a great product. True. However not sure where the problem in this case the light designers or the cover designers. I was thinking to swap the barn doors but they have a certain size. Other than this, I only need them for the honeycomb and will buy the velcro off Ebay and superglue these on. Good luck.

I have diffuser for my LED light with Bowen Mount but I did not have one for my RGB1200 LED light. The diffuser work only with that light and produce a beautiful diffuse light that will add softness to your lighting. Come in a bag and is easy to set up and is very portable because of how it is compact inside the bag. You can also use the honey-comb grid that comes with the diffuser.
