Review: 6-Inch (306PMKII) Keep It Simple Stupid - After months of research even going into tons of stores. I'll cut to the chase of my simple small setup that didn't cost a fortune. 2 - 6-Inch (306PMKII) I'm wondering what the 8's sound like 1- SMSL100 DAC Money well spent (Bluetooth, Fiber optics, and supposedly from other reviews I can add a subwoofer to the rca out.) Will update this in the future. Cables 2 - 25ft xlr cables I was tired of using boring rca cables 2 - power cables for the speakers Obviously included 1 - power cable for the DAC Obviously included 1 - Fiber optic cable from my tv to the DAC. Why? because I noticed a big difference in sound quality from using bluetooth since I have had these. Since August no subwoofer added to my system but I do plan on getting one eventually. That is all that I am using. No overpriced home audio equipment. I don't have thousands of wires running around my room or wall or cottage that I live in. I use two remotes one for the tv and one for the DAC. I can run my pc via Bluetooth to the DAC but recently I noticed a big difference in quality from using the fiber optic cable. So I run desertcart Music from my tv now(Settings set to HD and up quality in the app). I went with 25ft cables so I can move them around in my cottage with no problem. I have cranked this up full max and have not noticed much distortion. I do this on a Monday when the neighbors are at work and I pretty much have the grounds to myself. It gets loud and the bass is pretty intense. Subwoofer will be next and I'm not sure what I want to do with that. Either a JBL to pair it or to try a $100 compact sub a space savor and to learn from it. I listen to anything that doesn't suck so sorry to you mumble rap crap fans. Classic Rock to the 60's even real hip hop 2 Pac Ja Rule etc...... The speakers are crisp and just right. Klipsch was too tingy. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Am I correct in my thinking that you connect the sub to your audio interface, and then your studio monitors will connect from the sub?**
A: Yes but not necessarily, with the right connection wires it can be run from any type of input. I run a 1/8" to two 1/4" (L & R) into the sub and two female XLRs to 1/4" cables into my monitors. Sounds amazing.

**Q: Can i hook up both speakers to a single mini-plug on my pc? if so, what are the specifications of the wire(s) i need to purchase separately.**
A: Yes you can. Aside from a mixer or device in the middle, you have two choices; a standard 3.5mm to RCA cable, or 3.5mm to 'balanced' L/R XLR pro-audio connectors. Trust me, you want the balanced. With the standard RCA cable these speakers suffer from impossible LOUD ground loop problems - hiss, hummming...  The XLR cables quieted mine right down as other's have reported - I have them connected to the headphone-out my PC's USB SoundBlaster 3 sound adapter. I bought my cable on Amazon, 3.5mm male to stereo XLR male.

**Q: Does it come w/ the 2 xlr or trs cables it needs??**
A: No cables included with my unit. I recommend Mogami.

**Q: If I use the TRS input, will I be able to use the XLR output?**
A: Yes, you can use the balanced Tip-Ring-Sleeve 1/4" input (that might come from your preamp) with the balanced XLR (microphone-type) output to your satellite speakers. Shouldn't be any issues unless one of your cables have a pin wired in conflict. This is exactly how I have it configured using a Duet 2 and LSR-308s.

Pretty good so far sounds great but we will see what happens in a year. Definitely a better sound than my KRK Rokit 5 monitors
